You are very correct because it is so much easier than dealing with the substantive issues . Just a couple of points from their " Play-Book ".

IE : Talking Points Rule #1 : " First change the focus and the subject ."

Rule # 2 : " Attack the speaker " also known as

an " Argumenum Ad Hominum " .
