Anyone ever tried to paint their switchplates to have them match granite backsplash? I need ideas, thanks!

What color is the granite? We used nice antique brass finished plates with ours. Coordinates very well.

I would NOT use the typical existing vinyl cover plates. ACE hardware has the hard plastic ones. These take paint much better. Next, if you are lucky, your granite will be mostly one color. I would take paint swatches that are close, and pick the closest one.
Now, using very fine sandpaper, sand the finish on the new cover plates. Get a good spray primer, and apply 1 or 2 coats of primer, and after this dries completely (1 day) apply your finish coat. I would mention to the salesperson that you are applying the primer to the plastic cover paints, and the final coat will be water based latex paint. Kilz is probably the best primer for this type application.
As I recall some or the stores (ACE, Lowes, home depot) can make small quantities of paint, I think they call them samples.
NOW, if you want to match the pattern of the Granite, you are probably going to need to find an artist to add these. I would follow up with a suitable clear coating.
Hope this helps.

I painted my hard plastic wall plates to coordinate with my wall paint many yrs ago and they have held up just fine.

If you have a decent camera and a printer you can take a picture of your granite then print on a self stick label and cover your outlet covers and you have perfectly matching outlet covers.

There is a artist in theVillages that will paint switch plates to match your granite, can't recall her name. Three years ago it was $65 per plate as I recall. I think our installers gave us her name. We went with brushed brass and it worked great for us. I think they were around $5 per plate.
