I just noticed the Shell station has gas for $1.98 per gallon. I have not seen it that low in around 10 years.
Stock market is over 17,000.
Unemployment rate is just a smidge over 5 percent, I believe.
CPI is so low that Social Security will not be getting a COLA.
Basically, the economy is looking mighty good. Not perfect, but mighty good. :clap2:

1. Gas price are low because of decreased world-wide consumption.
2. The stock market is over 17,000 because interest rates are near zero, so the investors have little choice but to invest in the market or accept minimal returns from fixed-income securities.
3. When you consider that the reported unemployment rate does not factor in eligible workers that are no longer looking for work. Bernie Saunders says the the actual number is 10.5%. Other believe it to be much higher.
4. CPI is low because inflation is low, and low inflation combined with low interest rates are characteristic of a weak economy. Also, low inflation leads to stagnant wages, a major complaint from the Left. The Feds goal for inflation is about 2% which would increase wages, and unfortunately the cost of goods to those on a fixed income.
5. I guess the economy looks good from you're perspective and to those fortunate enough to have a job. However, many economists would disagree.

It is really getting tiresome to see this posts from people who have no idea of what they are talking about, and then are presented with a FEW numbers to try are this guy, this party or whatever look good.
Please limit these kind of things, good or bad, as they have no meaning when you simply repeat them by rote.
For example, someone today posted how wonderful everything was during the Clinton years, and some were, but did you know, ironically that income equality rose over 10 % under Clinton and not at all under Bush, and back up under Obama ?
That stat cannot stand alone and I am making no attempt to do that, but to rattle off numbers like the OP did to make a political point on behalf of the President simply points out her nativity and degree of brainwash

This weeks pull the string in the neck of the doll schpeal!
Absolutely no clue as to what is really behind the figures.
Unfortunately the the numbers of lemmings, sheeple, free loaders and where's my cut are growing and re-populating. When they become the majority, maybe the happy poster of the above garbage can enlighten us as to where the money will come from to support the burden. By then it will be too late and it won't matter because no matter how low they drag this country to become, life will be better than where they came from.

Doom and gloom is my prediction. Elect the Democrat and everything will go back to double digit inflation and unemployment.
This is all smoke and mirror just to get Hillary elected. The WH is in bed with the Fed, Wall Street, and Dept of Labor.

How is that possible?
Newt told us that if Obama is re-elected gas would be $7.00 a gallon.

Pathetically ignorant. It's a real shame that today's education institutions produce such uninformed children. People like you are the reason we still have third world countries existing.

Hah, but you also refuse to acknowledge the fact that gas prices were at all time record high levels during this administration. Blame Bush and then you have to give him credit for it dropping again too. You can't have it both ways.
Fact is:
Highest poverty level ever
Highest food stamp level ever
Highest loss of work force in decades
Longest unemployment extension ever
Highest minority unemployment ever
Do I need go on?
What did Obama accomplish?
First sitting black president
....AND.......
..........
..........
.........?????
The reason why Obama has not been able to do anything is because Bush held him back from his home in Texas. Even though he had a totally Dem controlled congress for two years, Bush kept him from accomplishing anything. That, and the Republicans were "the enemy" and needed "to be destroyed." Obama knew what was best for the country, even though the people were too ignorant to realize it. Obama says we need more protests in the street. After all, those thugs that the police eliminated could have been his children.
Being facetious? Yep. But, after two terms of failure, you would think that he would come up with something new and original as an excuse for his pathetic record.

This poster is so recognizable.
HER posts almost always are directly from the party controlled wbsites or blogs.
She has no thoughts of her own, only those fed to her from the party.
Ever notice how her posts are crammed with Florida voting precipices and news ? Or the constant, over the years obsession with our Governor ?
This is not from the news, addresses no issues facing the country and is spoon fed on various blogs and websites controlled and run by the Democratic Party.
The comment about Newt to which I am responding is directly from THINKPROGRESS dated January of this year. THINKPROGRESS of course is part of Center For American Progress, which is an admitted arm of the Democratic Party.
Now both parties have these, but this poster in particular consistently passes on information directly from there and passes it off as her own.

During the Summer of 2008 a gallon of gas in the NE was $4.79 a gallon.

The comment about Newt came from Newt himself during the last POTUS R debate.
IN 2012. And reported on by THINKPROGRESS in Jan of this year.
"Lee was not alone. Newt Gingrich, running for the GOP nomination, predicted that if Obama was reelected he would push gas to “$10 a gallon.” Gingrich said he would reduce gas prices dramatically by reversing Obama’s energy policies. Gingrich flanked himself with campaign signs promising $2.50 gas if he was elected."
4 Things That Were Supposed To Happen By 2015 Because Obama Was Reelected | ThinkProgress (http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2015/01/01/3607416/4-things-2015-obama-reelected/)
Please use real news sites and speak of CURRENT issues and CURRENT players.
I would love to see a link to what you cited from the "LAST POTUS R DEBATE"

Pretty funny, how quotes from yesteryear are being used to boost up the Obama failure image.
In August 2008, the cost of a gal of gasoline fell to $3.74 and continued to fall until the price averaged $2.07 just after Election Day in November, when Mr. Obama was elected president.
The cost of gas was $1.84 just six days after President Obama's inauguration.
Source: Consumer Reports
Obama was sworn in as president on January 20, 2009. In the week that ended on January 19, 2009, the weekly retail gasoline price in the U.S. was $1.90/gallon. In May 2011 retail gasoline prices averaged above $4/gallon for three straight weeks. The most recent retail price — for the week ending September 10, 2012 — was $3.91/gallon. So prices were more than double what they were when Obama was sworn in. So, regardless of how you manipulate numbers, one can say that gas prices did double during Obama's first term.

Since we cannot edit our posts on here I am just going to add this to my response in post #16.
My bottom line is this. If you want to compare quotes, promises, predictions of politicians.....I mean if that is truely what you call discussing politics...then begin a thread and call it MINE IS BIGGER THAN YOURS.
Republican can google and get websites of what Obama promised and did not deliver...you can post all your stuff from the party, and of course add the oldie but goodie on Rick Scott.
I would prefer to discuss things like.....Iran deal, Syria situation, character of the Democratic nominee, Israel, destruction of Libya, comments on debates, racial tensions in the country, and on and on. Lots to chose from, but they are called current ISSUES.
By the way, new home sales went down today far below what predicted. In what column does that go ? I jest, because in your world that is a stat to use for some reason when in fact is is ONE of many statistics to measure the countries growth.

Yeah, I know...I just posted and suggested that she and others like her just start a thread and call it MINE IS BIGGER THAN YOURS and have a go at all that stupid comparing.
I think in the middle of a primary season, the Democrats would be out supporting Ms Clinton and suggesting why she is the candidate and allowing defense of her many character issues.
Instead we are bringing back items from 2012 and before, personally attacking each Republican candidate (and they ARE fair game on issues by the way).
Perhaps this is all there is to talk about.
They will not discuss for example a very interesting article in Reuters today where they discuss the "snap back".....meaning we have said we can "snap back" the sanctions at the wave of a hand if there is a violation.
What is being discussed is how difficult that will be as Russia, China and Europe rush to fill Iran with their business and enrich Iran.
But it seems much easier to do a search or simply look in the archives of the number of Democratic party sites and simply "flame" this and other forums.
