I purchased a Tilley (http://www.tilley.com/us_en/men/hats/warm-weather/ltm8-lightweight-mesh.html) hat about four years ago on a visit to St. Augustine. Had a hard time choking down the $80 price tag.

It is the perfect golf hat for Florida. The wide brim keeps the sun at bay, and the sweat band sops up a lot of moisture. When it is really hot, I just douse the sweat band with ice water and get a quick cool down.

Since my original purchase, I have played about 800 rounds of golf, always wearing the Tilley hat. It has been through the washing machine at least 400 times. It was looking a little worse for wear, and I noticed that the crown was frayed.

Called Tilley, sent them my hat and a $8.50 check for the return shipping. Today, my brand new replacement Tilley had showed up.

Amazing company.

Left hubby's Tilley in the back seat and something ...we were traveling for a few weeks...looks like it bleached it....but he loves it so much, he still wears it!

800 round of golf in 4 years = 200 rounds a year. If you can afford green fees for 200 rounds a year, $80 bucks for a hat should be a breeze. Just yankin your chain. Congrats on the stamina to play 16+ rounds every month! :BigApplause:
