Had a friend move back to New Hampshire because she thought she missed her family and grandkids. Lasted a year and moved back here. I think the two biggest reasons are grandkids and health. Sometimes they just need to be closer to family. I know one couple moved back because they missed the open spaces of their old home. Another because they hated the heat and the bugs. One single just hated it here and never gave herself a chance to find her niche.

The topic creates limitation because he only asks for the number of people who moved back home
I know a number of people who moved, not back home, but to other places. Some to be near the water, etc. One guy who told me he moved to Lady Lake because he was not using the amenities and thus a waste of money . Some to surrounding/competing communities

One of our treasured posters moved to the mountains of Tennessee. One isn't very happy with the predominantly conservative, non diverse population here and said she was leaving. Some people find that this isn't the right place for them. We don't have huge mansions here like they do in Miami and some people find the architecture of the homes not to their liking. I know of on person who truly did move back to Washington State saying that one of the reasons was lack of really fine restaurants.
I think it takes a lot of courage to move across country and start a new life. It is not as easy as it looks and it takes some settling in and finding your niche. I think whether a person is happy here or not is pretty much whether they would be happy anywhere or not.
I love how nicely this area is maintained. I love that people take pride in taking care of their property. I love that I have opportunities to continue learning and I love the population of older adults. They have so many exciting adventures to share and so much in common with us. I love riding in a golf cart and I love meeting new people. I love so many of you who have become my treasured friends and I love debating on this forum.

I know one couple who did move back north over a year ago. But is moving back here when they sell up there. Another couple who moved to a different community nearby. We are from S. Fl, and are able to go down probably 8x or more a year & see family & old friends. This year we are going down for the 3 winter months, & renting out our house here. It should be an interesting experience, cause we rented a small condo down there. We call ourselves "sunbirds".
