When I arrived in TV, I contacted Nugent's office to discuss an issue that I have worked on for years and have had great success with many congressmen in cosponsoring.
I met with Justin Grabelle, chief of staff, a couple times as well as spoke with him on the phone. The issue revolved around food safety. In the last meeting, he shut me down saying: a) "we have to let people eat what they want"...even if it is toxic..and no they would not get behind any legislation to do with food safety. And b) I was the only person ever to contact the office about this issue.
Following the last and rather disappointing meeting, I contacted the FL advocacy group. They told me many many people had contacted Nugent's office but were always shut down.
Electing Grabelle who is looking to step into the congressman's seat is, in my point view, keeping the status quo of the way Washington does business. We must must must get people outside of the political system to get in and start working for the people instead of sitting in their very closed and deceptive ivory towers doing what they want and not responsive to their constituents.
