"Bob Schieffer's America" is a book containing his essays through the years. Schieffer is host of Sunday morning's "Face the Nation", on CBS. He writes about the times, presidents & politics he's encountered in his long career in journalism. Right now especially, this is a refreshing break from presidential campaign fisticuffs.

I've read his other two books - neither of which titles I recall. One was an autobiography and was fascinating. Schieffer started his broadcasting career in Texas. The one I just read highlights important eras in recent times and the journalistic coverage. He represents such a balanced view in this increasingly partisan and vituperative political environment.
