Both of them are pretty stupid. Why would you get out of your car and approach someone who is screaming at you and flipping you off? He obviously wasn't going up to the car to politely explain how roundabouts work, lol.

Looks like the idiot in the front car was the aggressor. Note how he continued to try and get in the way of the vehicle that was trying to leave. Then his, limping! into the shack holding his arm. I have a feeling he's done this type of thing before, another fraudulent payday for a loser.

Especially in Florida where your car is considered as your home/castle for lethal force self defense. Very stupid to stop in front of a vehicle to confront someone in Florida, unless you enjoy getting shot.

maybe not very bright to approach the irate driver, but no excuse for an assault. You cannot hit someone because you don't like what they say (at least not yet). I hope the injured gentleman is OK. As an aside, and don't take this the wrong way, it appears from the video he would have been more likely to have a shoulder sprain from the way he was spun around, yet he was holding his forearm, which was struck by the vehicle but at a pretty low speed. I hope there wasn't any acting going on, it would only diminish the incident that was clearly the other driver's idiocy.

Sigh. You really can't fix stupid. Looks like the white SUV was trying to leave, not actually hit the guy. Probably a stupid move but not a criminal act in my mind. It will be interesting to see what happens legally. The charges against him are pretty serious but with a decent defense attorney and that video, seems like the element of intent would be missing and the biggest charge would end up being leaving the scene of an accident. Definitely not your run of the mill incident.

It appears to me, the driver of the white SUV came very close to squeezing the other driver between cars and probably his sideview mirror hit the pedestrian. I hope the driver of the white SUV gets everything the judge can level at him.

The driver of the white car has stupidly incriminated himself.

"When deputies went to Kardashian’s home to interview him about the incident, Kardashian said he didn’t intentionally strike the victim, but advised it was possible he swerved to scare him, the arrest report indicated."

I'm not sure that helps him legally. After all, "I didn't intentionally shoot him in the head, but I possibly discharged my gun over his head to scare him"

Not at all representative of life here in TV.
Just the isolated incident being glorified and authenticated with the use of today technology.

If it ever went to trial it would be interesting to see lawyers define who was the perpetrator of the incident, using what "illegal" means?
Then there would be the issue of intent. I do not think it would be very easy to demonstrate an intent to hit the other guy.
All the driver has to do is claim he was in fear for being harmed by an assailant.

And on and on and on.

I personally think the guy who got out of his car was the problem.

Reminds me of what the great Mississippi Hill Country bluesman, R.L. Burnside told the judge. "I didn't mean to kill nobody, I just meant to shoot the SOB in the head. Dying was tween him and the lord."

I wonder if one senior sees another senior in the car so they figure they have a pretty good chance to duke it out and win.
I wonder if they saw a much more intimidating driver the macho might not take over as easily.

It's very sad.
I just thought of an old saying that someone in my past used to say "act your age and not you shoe size"*. Too many men [not most by a long shot] down here act 10 and a half, wide.

YOU are absolutely right but some are more inclined to TALK instead of keeping their mouth shut.

That is the only difference. THE only difference and it is cultural and learned and often geographic. Many people taught to be outspoken look down on some of the others as being wusses and those taught to not speak out in a public setting look down on those who do. They are the same people really and both with many good traits. It is how their mom's raised them and how they adopted the culture around them.

Boy, that injury looks faked to me. Why did the passenger get out of the front and open the back of the car? Why is there a split in the tape? Why did s/he drive off and leave an "injured" man alone? Where the heck is that camera? I thought they were only on the gates.

Interesting. I see a man block a car with his car, then the man gets out of his car and approaches the driver of the other car, then the man in the car tries to leave by turning to go around the man's car, and the man steps in front of him. Amazing how two people looking at the same video can see two entirely different things.

Check the WFTV report. A lawyer could probably create reasonable doubt rather easily though as to the intent. Not sure that the driver of the white SUV deliberately hit the other man. Could be just an accident if the man who fled was inebriated, had poor eyesight, was mentally ill, etc. Then he should not have been driving in the first place.

It is funny that I don't get mad at people doing selfish or dangerous things when I am driving and my husband doesn't either nor our children or grandchildren. My parents and grandparent didn't either. I have heard and said "That was a damned dumb thing to do", or" I wonder why that guy is in such a hurry".

I would like to say that I am usually impatient and do things quickly and even don't have much patience with projects that aren't quickly done, but I am not angrily impatient and don't mind waiting in line.

I wonder what makes people more full of rage when they are driving as both these drivers apparently were. I would never think to engage in stopping my car and telling someone anything. I just wouldn't be that mad. Annoyed maybe, scared perhaps, very much on guard, absolutely.

I have seen worse driving here than in any place I have lived or driven. I think some people don't drive much where they are from and maybe take public transportation or drive long distances early and often the way we do in less populated areas. I doubt the horn on any of our cars has been used more than once a year. And for things like an animal sitting in the middle of the roadway.

Never having been a male with all that testosterone could add to my confusion. It seems that men more often than women engage in road rage and more men have had opinions on this thread.

Please be careful. We are getting crowded. Driving will be worse. We have new people who don't know their way around and unaccustomed to roundabouts and well...maybe driving a lot and many unused to taking stop signs seriously. I don't think we can change anyone's personalities. I feel sorry for the mates of those two hotheads we saw on that tape.

2BNTV
11-05-2015, 09:27 AM
The guy in the dark car was the aggressor but that didn't give the right to the guy in the white car to hit him. It will be for the court to decide this issue.

The guy in the white car would have serve his interest better if he waited another minute for the guy in the dark car to leave and not have to go through all the legal issues that will follow. What a waste of time and energy.

Both people should be ashamed of their behavior.

bagboy
11-05-2015, 09:27 AM
Gracie, I'm glad you mentioned the mates. I obviously have no idea what happened in the round about or what was said by either party at the gate. What I took away from watching the video is this: the man in the black SUV had zero idea as to who or what he was about to confront. By exiting his vehicle and engaging in whatever conversation he initiated with the other driver, he put himself and more importantly his wife in an extremely dangerous situation. The driver in the white vehicle could have come out shooting, who knows what many people are going to do these days.
In my opinion, a man should never put his wife in a dangerous situation for any reason. I know how ego, masculinity, and testosterone works. And all of that is best put into check when driving a car or being out and about anywhere. The consequences of not doing so are always worse than the initial act.
