I saw this ad on television a few days ago:

Greenlight A Vet | Supporting America's veterans (http://www.greenlightavet.com/)

Got my green bulb front and center on the garages.

If you are so inclined pass it along.

They are 98 cents for a single bulb at Walmart. Pretty inexpensive way to show our support.

I commend you all for displaying symbols of support for our veterans, but have you considered doing something a bit more tangible? There are many ways one can offer real help and support.

Our youngest child turned us on to a wonderful effort and now we choose to donate all our Delta Skymiles to Fisher House's Hero Miles Program that enables family members free flights to visit their wounded service member. One can do this with other airlines as well.

Another way is to support the Honor Flight Network which has an active contingency here in The Villages. This is a great way to honor our diminishing population of WWII heros, most of whom were just kids when they went to war.

One caveat.....do some research on any charity you choose to support...lots of lowlifes out there pretending to help vets while actually lining their own pockets.

THANK YOU for all who have served our armed forces. Veteran's day is for those veterans who have come home and those who have not. We THANK YOU ALL and enjoy YOUR day.
