Yesterday I went to 4 different executive courses and found 2 closed (Diablo) and 2 that were booked solid. I then tried to get Thanksgiving dinner at Lopez and they were sold out. I'd guess the rush is on...maybe November will become high season too.And sadly to say there are no restaurants of value up in the far north.

The restaurants were advertising for T.G. a month ago. I guess it's a bit too close to find something as it's only 2 weeks away...for the discriminating customer. Golf courses....some are being over-seeded now. Plus I think if you use the Villages on-line system and aren't picky about the time of day you can find places to golf.

Close to 466 are Bonefish, Red Lobster, Sonrise Cafe, Crispers, Perkins, Bob Evans, IHOP, Beef O Bradys, Golden Corral, Giovannis. Do you mean further north than this?

Maybe I can help with the golf. I use the viilages.net website, it costs $8 per month. There is a golf section. You can go to the site, go through the steps of making a reservation, view open times at each course up to 3 days in advance. You can scroll down and make a note of what tee times are open on one or more courses that are close to you. There is no guarantee that all the times will be open the next day, but it gives you a good idea as to where to try first, second, etc. Then just log out without confirming any reservation.
I have done this for 2 years and always been able to walk on and play in the afternoon somewhere without fail, even in the busy season. There are some days that I pass on because they are very busy. As an example, I looked at El Diablo for tomorrow. There is noone booked from 3:17 to 4:56. Pretty safe bet you can get on tomorrow there.
I don't make tee times in advance unless guests are here as we don't decide what the days activities will be for us until that morning.

This site lists all of the courses.
There is a map showing where all the courses are located.
Plus a lot more information.
