Just had a birdcage added to my lanai. Now the problem that has surfaced is a tremendous amount of water runoff from the roof. This water is rotting my lawn. Need a French drain installed about 20 feet in length. Can anyone offer advise? Have no idea of cost to dig the trench and install.....

Just a suggestion, before you have the French drain installed. We just had a birdcage added to our lanai, and had to have the irrigation changed around, mainly for the plants. We had 2 down spouts installed, and when the landscaping was finished, all but one of the downspouts were connected to underground flexible piping and a popup in the lawn, this system seems to work very well.
Also had Jim Baumgartner 352-504-2317 out to check the irrigation. He found several problems, and did a complete tune-up on the system and reprogrammed the controller.
Hope this helps.

Tri county does a lot of french drains here try them.
Also call a few rain gutter guys to take a look sometimes diverters can go on the roof
Last thought is the bird cage is supposed to have rain gutters built into them?????
