My very recent quotes:
"I think.. there's USC and everyone else"
"don't overlook the Gators"
-----------------------------------------------------------
I'm wondering which other college powerhouse I can bring to their knees in an instant just by giving them a TOTV endorsement???
Hmmmmmmmmm, Georgia sure looks tough LOL

I really wish you would not have mentioned Georgia. Why didn't you go for Bama?
I want my DAWGs to win. That would probably get them back to #1 where they started this year.
BTW: They are wearing black. They are going to Bama's funeral.
Go Georgia!!

Hey John,
Nice call on Georgia/Bama! It's only halftime but it's obviously over. Did you curse Georgia just to ruin Caveman's day?
How about coming to Vegas with me. You tell me how to bet, I'll do the opposite and we might end up as flush as some Wall St CEOS!
BTW, are you picking DaBears tomorrow?

Who's the Fat Lady?
The ominous singer of a doomed bet.
What did she sing?
Georgia, Florida and USC teams
All had visions of BSC dreams
After their heads were handed to them on a platter
They can all forget that number one chatter.
What was over?
Georgia's shot at the title.

ijusluvit, go make your Vegas bet.
JohnN's "Lock of the Week"
Auburn to whip Vanderbilt,
c'mon.. Vandy?? when has Vandy ever beat a good team? LOLOL

Holy Moses!
Vandy 14- Auburn 13
That clinches it. JohnN is possessed by demons.
NEVER believe anything he says and you will ALWAYS be right!
I'm buying his first beer at Crazy Gringos on 10/26 (as long as he picks the Bills to lose).

ijusluvit,
ok, for you, bud, easy game today, think about it.
1) The Bills are way over-rated, they're really not THAT good, it's just the Pats and AFC east are that bad
2) They're on the road, and the Arizona Cardinals play a lot tougher than follks give 'em credit for, yes? They're contenders in their division, which is a real divison unlike the AFC East (LOLOLOLOL).
3) The Bills are unbeaten and due for a letdown, much like Kansas City whipped Denver last week, to the surprise of all.
4) Last but not the least, the Arizona Cardinals moved from St. Louis, but before that they were the Chicago Cardinals, and I was a youngster when they were there, I remember 'em well, hometown thing, ya' know?
So... for you.. today only...
Arizona 31, Buffalo 20
PS - I also picked the White Sox and Cubs to win their respective series!!!

ijusluvsit,
sorry,
Maybe that was a pro game and this is a college thread.
I was rooting for the Bills

Well, Oklahoma choked (that's good, I never much liked OK, nor Texas LOL),
so that leaves LSU in prime position to take over #1 with a win over the Gators, who know a choke or two themselves.
LSU 24, Florida 14
Don't look now, but USC is inching up the rankings again. I am not a USC fan, but they always somehow get it done. Texas? they may stay undefeated. Penn St.? Big ten teams usually tank it in the end. Alabama? too tough a schedule. Texas Tech? Oklahoma St.? no.
USC vs Texas for national championship because of their schedules.

Texas is #1... cakewalk with Colt shooting down Texas Tech

Hey, anything you can do to bring USC to its knees is fine by me. We UCLAers love to see/hear about USC losing (unless you mean the University of South Carolina and then we just don't care). So, thank you!!
With the rankings constantly changing each week, it will just have to be wait and see. Alabama is going to struggle to get through the SEC undefeated, and Texas Tech looks good, but they have to get through the Big 12. So teams like Texas, Oklahoma, USC, Florida all are in the wings waiting for them to slip up. It looks again like the BCS should be replaced with a play-off of 8 teams, but even then there will be an argument of who should be the 8.
Oh well.
JohnN
11-09-2008, 08:48 PM
Alex, I agree about the 8 teams.
I'm not picking a national champ, I don't wanna jinx 'em :coolsmiley:
This weekend, with Texas Tech playing Oklahoma, or Alabama's last two games vs. Auburn and Florida will be huge. All the one-loss teams are standing in the wings, ready to jump into the national championship game. Florida and Oklahoma have the advantage playing the #1 and 2 teams. Always interesting! Sure beats following da Bills....
JohnN

alright, Oklahoma and Florida....
not only does their QB win the Heismann, but they win the Nat'l Championship.
You heard it here first!!! LOL :a040:
