Deed restrictions say that "Commercial and or professional activities may not be conducted in any home or on any property.Commercial and or professional activities may not be conducted in any home or on any property." Are they serious? Friends of ours operate two businesses from their home in TV - both are consultants who do business by phone and email, and offsite client meetings. Is this really against the rules? Is the rule ever enforced?

I think you answered your own question "off site meetings".
How could anyone monitor someone conducting telephone and email activity.
The deed restriction prevents someone from opening a beauty shop, golf car repair, etc.
I sure would not want someone to have a business next to me that had a steady stream of customers.

For sure! There are countless people conducting home-based businesses from homes all over the country, and why should it be any different in TV? The technology that makes this type of thing possible has come a long way!

You're all being logical. I agree. Someone should rewrite the deed restriction so that a strict interpretation would not preclude logic. I bet there are plenty of accountants, consultants, pet sitters, etc. in TV with home-based businesses that don't bother anybody.
