All day, I have seen tapes of Donald Trump, supposedly saying he wants a database of all Muslims, which he really didnt say but did imply. I have seen Ben Carson tapes all day talking about dogs. It almost seems like a Democratic campaign.

Tonight I see this headline ......

"These 47 Democrats Just Voted to Send Syrian Refugees Back to their Imminent Death"

These 47 Democrats Just Voted to Send Syrian Refugees Back to their Imminent Death (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/11/19/1452134/-These-47-Democrats-Just-Voted-to-Send-Syrian-Refugees-Back-to-their-Imminent-Death)

Of course that is a condemnation of the Democrats who supported the Republican introduced bill in congress on pausing, not stopping the refugee problem.

When do we get back to responsible journalism and informative journalism ? Or are we stuck with this stuff, which if you really want to know the truth, you need to do your own personal digging around. Most people will not do that "digging around" and thus are at the mercy of whatever media they have become "attached to.

PLEASE do not come on here and speak about any particular network, or website. I am speaking of and complaining about the lack of good journalism and how the bad, seedy journalism is affecting the american voter.

Sad for me.

The media and all parties have been totally absent from public view over the last 2 1/2 years when this refugee problem could have been averted

This article goes back to September 2012....

" Syrian refugees are beginning to make their way to Europe, according to Reuters. Eurostat said 12,325 Syrians had lodged asylum appeals across the EU from January to June - a figure likely to understate the numbers coming in, due to delays in collating data and the fact that not all register, it said.

• Jordan estimates that the number of refugees fleeing Syria is growing by up to 10,000 a week, as conditions in overcrowded camps get worse. The Guardian's Harriet Sherwood described the wretched condition at the Zataari camp close to the Syria border."

Syria: refugee crisis - Tuesday 4 September 2012 | World news | The Guardian (http://www.theguardian.com/world/middle-east-live/2012/sep/04/syria-refugee-crisis-live)

Not the USA media reporting.

And the chagrin of everyone about this entire situation...IN 2013 our President said this....

""What kind of world will we live in if the United States of America sees a dictator brazenly violate international law with poison gas and we choose to look the other way?"

Obama's Syria hypocrisy in a quote - Business Insider (http://www.businessinsider.com/obamas-syria-hypocrisy-in-a-quote-2015-9)

Point is ALL OF THIS may have been avoided, NOT by US ground troops but arming the rebels, establishing a no fly zone....any of them and it may have been all averted.

"The regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has been known to use mass torture, sarin nerve gas, barrel bombs, starvation, and mass rape to hang on to power amid a vicious civil war that has been tearing the country apart since it started in 2011.

When the war first broke out, the US was hesitant to arm moderate rebels over fears that the arms could fall into the hands of extremists. Robert Ford, who was the US ambassador to Syria from 2010 to 2014, told PBS Frontline earlier this year that the US dragging its feet on the decision to aid moderate rebel groups was a mistake.

"The jihadi elements in Syria were a distinct minority in the Syrian armed opposition in late 2012 and going into 2013," Ford told PBS. "My concern now is that we no longer have any good options."

I know this appears like a shot at the President, but he is in charge and before anyone accuses me or anyone of only speaking ill of the President, I have tried...I started two threads as I promised that had no animosity toward anyone and got about 3 responses on one and none on the other.

This just, to me, indicts our leadership and the media. These poor people have been suffering and wanting. We, the leader of the free word, could have done so much....there was no Russia involved directly at the time...no Iran....

WE didnt even try and now we have a political debate on who loves or hates the Muslims more when the real debate should be why we ignored all of this.

You know, the President just said while in Turkey that those who want to, in his own words...."POP OFF" should have other ideas.

No fly zone......arm the rebels....MANY advised that in 2012

Heck, Hillary Clinton called for a no fly zone in 2012.

So, Mr President, those POPPING OFF have been and have suggested DETAILED plans.

It goes so deep.....

"Russia proposed more than three years ago that Syria’s president, Bashar al-Assad, could step down as part of a peace deal, according to a senior negotiator involved in back-channel discussions at the time.

Former Finnish president and Nobel peace prize laureate Martti Ahtisaari said western powers failed to seize on the proposal. Since it was made, in 2012, tens of thousands of people have been killed and millions uprooted, causing the world’s gravest refugee crisis since the second world war."

"Ahtisaari held talks with envoys from the five permanent members of the UN security council in February 2012. He said that during those discussions, the Russian ambassador, Vitaly Churkin, laid out a three-point plan, which included a proposal for Assad to cede power at some point after peace talks had started between the regime and the opposition.

But he said that the US, Britain and France were so convinced that the Syrian dictator was about to fall, they ignored the proposal."

Very well articulated basis that part and parcel make up the real Obama legacy!

This is simply another voice calling out the total and complete hypocrisy of our President in this matter.

He turned his back on them in EVERY WAY except his speeches years ago, and now he is lecturing Republicans on how to be compassionate...

"One wonders when Obama began caring so much about Syrians. If you put those 10,000 Syrian refugees back in their native country and let them get gassed, barrel-bombed, shelled or shot, would he bat an eye, or would they just be part of the ever-growing casualty count?

The Syrian refugees are most useful to the president as a symbol of his alleged cosmopolitanism and of the supposed backwardness of his opposition.

The fact is that, since our resources aren’t limitless, we are constantly slamming the door in the faces of refugees, as the president puts it. According to the World Bank, there were 2.5 million Afghan refugees in 2014; according to the Office of Refugee Resettlement, in fiscal year 2014 we took 758 of them. There were 616,000 from South Sudan; we took 52 of them. There were 410,000 from the Central African Republic; we took 25 of them."

And this opinion piece ends...

"Of course, that we are discussing a Syrian refugee crisis at all is another symptom of the president’s abject failure in the Middle East. So, please, Mr. President, spare us your sanctimony and condescension."

Spare us the sudden sanctimony on Syrian refugees, Mr. President | New York Post (http://nypost.com/2015/11/20/spare-us-the-sudden-sanctimony-on-syrian-refugees-mr-president/)

How dare this President forget how he turned his back on these people ?

It is difficult for me to even concentrate on how I feel about the issue after this President made a fool of himself in Turkey with his comments and his attitude.

Now, the left is bringing out George W Bush as a shining light to be used trying to use him to show how responsible people should handle this situation.

What is scary is that Romney said in 2012 Russia was to be concerned about, and Obama and the left literally made fun of him. Who do we have to go through on anything right now...Russia.

I recall Joe Biden loudly, and Obama snidely mocking Romney when he said we should bomb Syria in 2012 and then guess what...we did 2 years later, but only after clearing it with Russia.

Now, everyone does not have all the answers but our President just loves to be as combative as possible......sometimes the guys "popping off" do know something.
