After 2 years of visiting we finally decided to buy. We close on a Corpus Christi ranch in Hemingway on the 20th. Initially we will be snowbirds, from Wisconsin, & we are in need of some info. We are looking for recommendations on a "house sitter", an insect / termite company, & lawn care.
We can't wait to close & get started enjoying TV even if it's only part time, at first.

Congrats on your purchase.

For termite/pest, I think both Massey and Dean's seem to be pretty equal. Since Dean advertises here, I'd recommend giving them a try.

For lawn cutting, I'd recommend D & J Baker's. They're good and reliable, which is sometimes more important than the lowest price.

If you just want quarterly trimming and landscaping, I would recommend Rupert Cross.

I'll send you a PM with their phone numbers.

Definitely do a search and you'll find lots of good advice. I use LeeCo for pests, Baker for lawn, Rupert Cross for landscaping and -- our very own Redwitch for almost everything else! I've been very pleased with everyone (including price, work, and especially honesty.) There is one landscaper I would not recommend and that is WB Property Maintenance. They talked me into paying them in full and then never finished the work.

We use PTL Services (Pest, Termite, lawn). They do pest and termite control as well as lawn care and cutting. Prices are competative. For house sitting we use Sur-lock Homes.

Hi VickiTom- Welcome to the Villages. I use Dean's for pest control, Baker's for lawn and Redwitch to watch my house as I am a part-timer in the Villages. I would recommend all of them.
I had trouble with my first lawn company (they didn't show up when they were supposed to) and Redwitch recommended Bakers- I am happy with them. I just returned back up north from a week in TV and found my lawn to be well taken care of.
I have nothing to say but good things about Redwitch- she cares for my home like it was her own. She is honest, thorough and reliable. I would highly recommend her for whatever job you hire her for.
Again- WELCOME and congratulations!
