Rode my bike to Walmart mid morning and expected to see a full parking lot. Wrong ! ! Could have parked anywhere i wanted if I had the car. Bealls and Marshalls lots were the same. Looks like on line shooping was the winner !

Could it be we have everything we really need in TV? Love this place.

Walmart had one nice item. A 70" Vizio 240hz HD Smart TV for $898. I've owned a Vizio 60" Smart TV for 3 years, works great. I've been thinking about putting that in the BR and getting the 70". However, I'm going to wait until the Ultra HD 70" comes down in price.

That's because black Friday sales started Thursday not Friday.

Stores keep pushing the shopping early and the slow black friday is the result.

Stores weren't crowded here because most of us gain wisdom as we age.

Most of us.

I don't know about that. We went into Best Buy on 441/27 Wednesday night and there was a tent pitched outside.

Stores keep pushing the shopping early and the slow black friday is the result. Also, some stores and some online shopping websites seem to have "black Friday" for a whole week!

The First page of our newspaper up north (a city with about the same populations as TV) reads "BLACK FRIDAY STRONG IN CITY".

Daughter-in-law went Thanksgiving night for Black Friday. Got some great deals on toys. Lines not huge. I think the electronics stores have the largest lines like Best Buy.

Experts are saying spending will be up 25% this year. Have serious doubts they will up at all.

As with so many things these days the original concept has been exploited way beyond the original intent.

The current concept of black Friday attempts to change when one parts with their money based on the so called deals.

I am not sure anymore more gets spent over what some of us call the Christmas season.

A couple more comments about the current concept.
One, the success cannot be measured by how many cars are in the parking lot or not or whether there are lines in the stores. A huge amount of money is spent from sitting in front of a computer screen.

Secondly, I strenuosly object to the medias coverage of the so called black friday violent incidents portraying what for the most part is a fun/family/friends outing......as a riot scenario......the other 99% of us just do not behave that way and should object to being shown as rioters/thugs/looters!!

Merry Christmas!!!!

Here I do as much as I can online. Not going to the store with crazy people. This was the best year for online deals matched everything or almost everything the stores had to offer for Black Friday. Everything arriving at my door by Tuesday end of business day. Got everything that I was shopping for and didn't even have to stand in line did it in my PJs
