Help with avatar please

I want to put an animated avatar up again, but the way I used to do it doesn't work. It says that the file is too big, or invalid or..blah, blah. Could one of you please tell what to do? Thank you.

Here are the instructions on the edit avatar page...

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 120 by 120 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

I only had one small animated avatar (.gif file) and it still seems to work. Maybe your sashay is too hot for the new TOTV to handle.
