type this in your browser, sumterpa.com
You can find out how much houses have sold for on your street.
You might know that nosy rosy would find this.
TIP. Don't put house number in, just street name.

BECAUSE I spelled it Sumpter, like the fort. NOT Sumter like the landing. If I had another brain it would be lonesome.

One of my neighbors paid 170,000 for a Patio Villa, interior lot..
When this market becomes a memory, she will be able to get her money! Lets not get discouraged, things will turn around..

Didn't work for me. Selected "Record Search", put in street name only and got "0" results. Put in street name and individual's name and also got "0" results. What am I doing wrong? :(

Bryant,
This site is for Sumter County. I see, from your signature, that you live in Piedmont (Marion County)...perhaps you were looking for an address in Marion County? If so, here is the link to their property appraiser website:

Tried again. Still get "no matching records found. Try again." Even though I put in several different names/addresses. I don't get it???

OK, so I paid $40K MORE 2 years ago than the asking price for the same house today. BUT hindsight is always 20/20. But I also sold my home in Connecticut before the housing market tanked so it is all relative.
I will just have to ride the property value roller coaster just like I'm riding the 401k roller coaster right now and getting severe motion sickness!!! :cus:

When this market becomes a memory, she will be able to get her money! Lets not get discouraged, things will turn around.. the good news is "things will turn around' the bad news is when. I just read that the market did not get back to the 1929 level until the 50's!

You can go to the Oct. 2 thread entitled - Sumper County Appraiser - and just click on the URL -- that web page is the latest ( Oct. 1, 2008 ) and contains some information up to Aug. 2008 and is updated occassionally --

Bryant,
When trying the Sumter site, under addresses, just put in the name of the street, no numbers or St., Ave., etc.
Once on the correct street you can then scroll down and find the correct house #.
Try this link...

FYI -- The Sumter web page at qpublic is two generations old and has no information since early May 2008 -- The newest Oct. 1, 2008 has a URL that you can click on in the Sumter County Appraiser thread --
