Is there anyone that has experience using a GPS that might have a half hour for a quick intro. I have purchased a Garmin basic unit to use on my boat docked over in Crystal River on the Gulf, but I have never used one and ... the documentation is rather obtuse. Thanks.

Midge,

I would like to help you but am not familiar with your Garmin.

I recently bought a Magellan and the documentation that was included was fairly useless. I went to their web site and found their detailed owner's manual and printed it. It was most helpful and even a digital dummy like me was able to master it.

So, my suggestion is to visit Garmin's site.

By the way, if your GPS is for marine use you have a fairly narrow field of expertise here.

If am very conversant with Garmin GPS. It is not really that difficult once you understand the basics. I am away right now, but perhaps sometime next week I can give you a hand.
