Hopefully I'll be able to drive a golf cart. That will give me the type of freedom I've been looking for all my life. You people who drive really havce no idea how valuable being able to come and go as you please is to somebody like me.

We moved to TV because it was the only really nice retirement community we could find in Florida that allowed two large dogs. And it has turned out to be more wonderful than we could have ever believed.

Yes, sadly, we really do plan our life around our dogs.

So many reasons...

* Lifestyle, on the top of the list.
* Animal friendly, because just like Bare we plan our lives around our pet family members.
* Climate, we love the sun and heat but it is always nice to have the cooler months without the deep chill of the north.
* Golf cart friendly, we do not golf but the ability to access so many services by cart is such a plus.

We are so fortunate to live in this incredible community...I express my thanks daily.

I wanted to grow old with a group of my peers. I wanted an extended "family" and that's what I found here in TV. It is a magical place to live.

Since my husbands accident, the weather has become a major factor. After visiting for 10+ years, we found a home we both love. I LOVE TOTV and ALL the people we have met. Golf cart access a big plus. Sharing with our peers is the greatest plus. :coolsmiley:

We were looking for someplace that we could be active. Our fear of retirement was the two of us becoming couch potatoes because there was nothing to do. We know that we have found a place that we will have plenty to do in TV. Weather was also a factor, as well as the fact that we can car down and use the golf cart instead. Now if we could only sell our house so we can get there......

Way too many "good" reasons to fit into the category of a few, I can only sum it up by saying "The Villages makes my heart sing" I feel so happy when Im there, happier then any other time in my life since I was a crazy kid. I never dreamed I would find that wonderful feeling again and I feel so blessed.

Dont know what I did to deserve it , but I am so grateful !I love the Villages:MOJE_whot:

We left Manhattan 35 years ago y moved to Nassau County for the quietness and lack of traffic. Now Nassau County is worst than Queens, everyrwhere you go takes half an hour. After raised a family of 4 boys I think is our time to enjoy a little bit, and what better place than NEXT TO HEAVEN (TV), sorry West Virginia for stealing your words. Somebody said it above, you become a couch potato and the children are too busy with their own families, schools, little league, music, etc. Besides it will be blessing to go around in the golf cart instead of the black "monster". Sold the house and if we find what we want,we might get there by December; after 10 months in the market and minus 25% of the asked price; but I think TV is worth it, besides how much are you going to wait?

The clubs and activities. When I first joined the workforce after college I worked for a large company that had a very large number of clubs (both sporting and non-sporting) for the employees. It was great with things to do almost every night after work. It was also a great place to meet people with similar interests and form friendships. Sadly the days of that sort of employee-sponsored activities has long gone. However, it appears that TV has even more clubs and activities - and you don't have to wait until after work to enjoy them.

We were living on the ocean which was a dream come true. Unfortunately,
we were bored, and fast becoming couch potatoes. After visiting TV we knew that this was to be our next home and went to work to make it happen. We do not regret leaving the ocean, as a matter of fact, we are in awe of how happy we are. Our neighbors are the best and we love our environment. My only problem is finding enought hours in the day to do all the things I want to do.:a040:

Lone Travellor, we live close to 466 (Southern Trace) and recommend that you consider living somewhere in this vicinity since we have everything within a few minutes cart drive, banks, restaurants, markets, wallmart, hardware store, Urgent Care, Library and Learning Center, churches and far too many other eatablishments to mention. In any event, you will love TV no matter where you decide to live.

The major thing that "sold" me on the villages is the number and variety of things to do. While I love to golf, it is not the ONLY interest I have. The Villages offers me the chance to satisfy a variety of interests and meet others who have the same ones. The nice people and positive atmosphere are a wonderful plus!

Basically, it chose us instead of us choosing it.

The first quick pass through visit caught our attention.

The second vist (6-day life style visit) about 6 months later showed us that we would not likely find a more suitable place to live upon retirement.

The third visit (another 6-day life style visit) still 6 months later grabbed us and we bought on that trip.

The life style, golf, climate, golf, great amenities, golf, friendly people, golf, the house we found that had the perfect setting and location and, of course, the golf all sold us on TV. We kept noticing that we never saw anyone that looked like they were not happy.

Now, we are just trying to get to the time when we can actually move to our dream retirement community and home - hopefully in mid-2010. Until then, we will still be visiting for a week about every 6 months.

We visited The Villages for five days in a row and loved every minute of it. We bought on the fifth day in the historic (the best) section in the Villages.
We love the lifestyle. Especially when there is a polka band in the square.
Also all the golf courses.
I tell people that we live in two Paradises Summer in Maine and winter in the Villages and it don't get better than that.

My wife and I visited TV two years ago, after a friend that lost her house in Ocean Springs MS during the hurricane moved to TV. I NEVER thought that my wife would leave our condo in Marco Island, after it had been the family for over twenty years, but she (and I) fell immediately in love with TV. We visited again last year and will continue to until we can buy there.

EVERYTHING is what TV has to offer us!

Do you know anyone who doesn't want to move to TV that would like a condo on the beach on Marco Island instead? That's all that is keeping us from being there already.

Here are my reasons for wanting to buy in TV.

1 Clubs and Activities -Where else can you find over 1,000 clubs? I want to be active in my retirement. Clubs are a great way to meet people and instantly have at least one item in common with them.

2 Golf cart paths - My wife was impressed by the ability to go anywhere in a golf cart.

3 Central Florida location - Over 25 years ago I decided to retire to the Orlando area. I have two friends and a sister near Orlando and it also has many of the activities that I like. While TV is not as close as I would like, it is still a day trip away and has more activities and golf carts paths than anything closer to Orlando.

4 TOTV - It's not just the nice people I met on TOTV, it's the information I found on the pros and cons of living in TV. No other community I looked at had this much information readily available. It made choosing TV a much easier decision.

We have been here only 8 days. So far I've had 3 line dancing lessons, my first golf lesson, tennis scheduled for tomorrow and a beginner clinic for pickleball and another golf lesson scheduled for next week! We have met TOTVers and danced on the square, been to the Italian Fest, eaten too many good meals and haven't even begun to scout out card games etc.

We bought a golf cart our 2nd day here and love just tooling around the different areas. This place is terrific and the people are so very friendly....it has been even better than I had imagined! :a040:

We wanted to live an active life and boy have we ever found it!!

I want to live in TV because of the lifestyle and the sunshine. And, I want to live where the old people are young!
