Most of the postings on TTOV are over a year old.Looking for current advice on auto transportation companies.I need to transport a small auto from PA to Fl.
The auto train will not work for me.I want to deal directly with the transporting
and not pay a broker.

We came from PA also, when I looked into this, I could not find way to deal with the truck driver directly. Also, I needed a covered truck for the one car, also no luck. We ended up bring the vehicles down by the Amtrak Auto Train, with one person the cost was less then the quoted truck prices. The last vehicle I had moved with the furniture, $$$$, which cost almost twice what a typical truck transport cost, but it was the only way I could get a covered transport vehicle.
Hope this helps.

I suggest that you the Moving Van Companies in your area. I searched many options last May and got the best price that way. They loaded it right on the tail end of the Truck.

I've used Waggoners with good results and I've heard good things about Reliable.
Both only offer inside transport.

We used Exotic Auto Transport to ship one of our cars from Pennsylvania to The Villages last year. They only use enclosed carriers. We were very pleased from start to finish and we would not hesitate to use them again. Their main office is in The Orlando area. (You do not deal with a broker.)

Give Reliable a call for pricing. Enclosed trailers when I have met them but double check. (904) 742-6000

Thanks for the recommendations. So hard to know which to use without true experiences. We will be moving a classic truck back and forth to NH each year and this list has helped tremendously.

Please take a few minutes to check web reviews of any company your looking at. Even the worst company will deliver, the occasional car, without incident. This topic comes up on TOTV from time to time. I recall the last time it came up a villager raved about a particular company. Since I will be looking for a transport later this year, I decided to do some homework on the great transport company this villager was referencing. I was shocked to see hundreds and hundreds of horrific experiences by customers and an “F” by the BBB. No doubt the villager had a great experience, but he just got lucky.
Don’t be a statistic, do your homework.
