I remember my feelings about George W. Bush - the first time he was elected. Then I put on my big girl panties and decided he was the president of the United States and as such deserved my respect and loyalty NO MATTER WHAT because he is the leader of the greatest country in the world. Should John McCain win, I will support him, although with a heavy heart, because of the honor due his office not because I think the better man won. It is frightening to me how far some people would go to divide this "one nation, under God, INDIVISIBLE" by proudly making statements such as the one above and then laughing about how "smart" they are. If George Bush (the son) were on fire, I would certainly pee on him. He is my president.

Sorry, I'd throw water on him. I misread the other post, although I've never heard the expression used with throw water. My mistake.

Here is a hint I could care less what you think, and who are you to judge?
I used his middle name so that makes me a racist?
The Dems talk about McCain's age so is that discrimination?

Sounds like sour grapes from the losing (McCain) side.

Why did you put his middle name first? Why did you even use his middle name? You reference 9/11 in the same post... Your intent is to link Obama to Radical Islamic Terrorists...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to connect the dots.

McCain wants you, sheriffs in Florida and Palin to do this but when he his opportunity face to face. He showed what a coward he is. Why is it ok for crowds to yell terrorists and Kill Him at Republican rallies?

You need to examine yourself.

Cologal,

I do not believe that it was a Republican at the rally that yelled "kill him".

I do believe that it was a plant from the Obama camp. I can't prove that, but you can't prove that it wasn't.

I can't go there with you because most of the Republicans events are ticketed. I know that to see McCain/Palin you had to go to the Republican headquarters to get tickets. But perhaps you could agree either way the rally should have been stopped and a statement made that those comments were inappropriate. There also is a clip of numerous McCain supporters leaving a rally shouting Terrorist.

In this country we all have freedom of speach...even if your comments are racist I don't have the right to suppress them. I will just continue to call you out if you do it again...which is my right.

You don't know me from Adam, and yet see fit to call me a racist, because I use Barrack's middle name.
If it makes you feel good personally attacking me have at it.
To the thread originator, sorry we have taken your thread off topic.
This will be my last reply unless the name calling attacks continue.

Why do you use his middle name? Only you can answer that question.
In recent days the rhetoric coming from the McCain camp has been increasingly heated...never before have we heard crowds call out Kill Him.

Perhaps I was to strong...I just wanted you to look at what you said and why you might have said it. And is this type of attack necessary?

I had no intent to drive you off TOTV.

Jim, It actually started out with a pretty interesting, seemingly unbiased link to a survey that actually made me think a little....although the results were as I thought they'd be.

After that, I agree it degenerated into something so dumb it doesn't deserve a reply. But had it stayed on track, with folks maybe, for once, staying on topic instead of railing off at one another's opinions and beliefs, it would be worth a reply.

To those who have called this thread dumb and dislike how it has deterioted I agree with you but the racist slant bothers me. I guess this is as good a place as any vent my feelings on it.

To say there may be a racist undertone to this election by many of the electorate would probably be accurate. There was the same in 1960 with JFK on his religion....heck, during the primary Mitt Romney had to have a press conference to explain his religion.

You cannot make it go away, and you hope that those it influences are not so many to sway any election.

Having said that, you also cannot if you are the "offended" that everything is racist. Sen Obama has a given name. Everyone knows President Clinton's middle name and President Bush's middle name and so on back through our Presidents.

Sen Obama has a given name...IT IS HIS NAME...yes, because of what that name is, some folks use it in a non respectful manner, BUT IT IS HIS NAME. The sensitivity to it bothers me. If he is elected are we to NOT use his full name because he will be offended ?

I will never use it because it will detract from anything else I say because it will be deemed inappropriate, but it bothers me that I have to even be concerned about it. It seems to me that if those who support him would stop yelling racism everytime someone uses his full name it may just disappear !

I hope this makes sense...just had to vent !
