I finally got a phone # for Dr. Arbantes, but everythime I call I get a VM with instructions to leave a message for a callback.. does anyone know any info on where she moved her office?? frustrating.. the Village hospital still thinks she is on staff there and gave me a non-working number for her !!!!!

I also have Dr Abrantes as my primary physician. I finally reached someone and was told that she is no longer employed by ICE. She is trying to secure insurance approvals and will not accept patients until February. She has a office assistant in a small office at her previous location at Laurel Manor office. I was told that they have no patient information left on their computers...it was all removed . There has been no phone calls to former patients. I am also very frustrated.

I tried many times one day last week to reach her and kept getting a busy signal. I really liked Dr. Abrantes. Where is she?

I think she is a good doctor but I had so much trouble getting messages through that I gave up. She works for ICE, Dr. Qamar, who is under investigation for Medicare fraud. He can no longer accept Medicare. Not sure how that affected her but I would not think in a good way.

I thought ICE dealt with illegal aliens? Medicare fraud is welfare fraud and it abounds. Anyone getting a doctor to certify that a cosmetic procedure is medically necessary is a contributor and stealing from fellow taxpayers..but its the government's money you say...Hmmmm

I think this "fraud" involved doing unnecessary procedures or at least billing Medicare for them. Call it what you will!

After leaving three calls and not getting a call back, Barbara went to the office in the Sharon Morse building.

She was told (last Monday) that they had actually had an open office for three days. They had no excuse for not doing call backs for messages received.

Barbara got a new appointment. She later tried to call them about the appointment, and again got voicemail with no call back.

She is going in on Monday to try to get one minute with the doctor to tell her what a poor job her office staff is doing.

My wife asked if I thought it a good idea for her to have work done. I told her that was a personal choice but if she decided to do it then please don't come home a stranger. the only person that I have ever seen where plastic surgery looked natural is Rachel Welch, otherwise everyone else changed for the worse.
Even Laura Ingram minor work changed her distinctive face .

I prefer the natural lines that living brings to us all. the surgery itself explains the unnatural results "plastic"

I finally got a call through after I kept calling & hanging up..everytime the recording started I hung up and called right back !! I have an appt and I will definitely be complaining to the Doctor about the appt scheduling etc..

Apparently, when Dr. A and one other doctor decided to leave ICE they were going to remain in the same building. But, they were told on a Friday morning that they could not remain, and had to pack up and move out by that night.

It took a few days to get new space (in the Sharon Morse building) and resume operation. They wanted to send a letter to all their patients about the move but they would have been forced to address individual letters; I don't know why mail merge wouldn't work.

So, they sort of disappeared for a few days.

Barbara had an urgent medical issue and got in to see Dr. A this past week. She was assured that the office staff now diligently works to call back anyone who leaves a voice mail.

They have a one year lease at their current location with an option for a second year. Dr. A is dedicated to remaining in The Villages because she wants her children to go to The Villages Charter Schools.

Because some here want to entertain by going off the subject, I'll attempt to clarify for readers who don't know the situation with this doctor. Good primary care doctors are shrinking in number and it's hard to find and then get a good one.

"ICE" in this thread refers to Institute of Cardiovascular Excellence. Dr. Abrantes went to work for this medical group a few years ago. Her boss's questionable ethics (nicely termed) are summarized in the linked article below.

Dr. Abrantes is not her boss. She is a caring, capable physician whose reputation should not be that of her former boss.

Please read the article and have some consideration.

I don't know about you all, but I for one have had bad bosses in my life on whom I would NEVER want my reputation to be formed online!!!!!!

This number is correct.
She is on the 3rd floor of the Sharon Morse building.

She is affiliated with a different medical group, that is why the phone number has been changed.

I was there today and the office was quite busy.

They had a large number of staff, and everyone seemed to be working very hard getting information into their new computer system.
