I think I know, I think I know.....Merry Minuet
Am I right Gracie?
Merry Minuet
They’re rioting in Africa (whistling)
They’re starving in Spain (whistling)
There’s hurricanes in Flo-ri-da (whistling)
And Texas needs rain.
The whole world is festering with unhappy souls
The French hate the Germans, the Germans hate the Poles
Italians hate Yugoslavs, South Africans hate the Dutch
AND I DON’T LIKE ANYBODY VERY MUCH!!
But we can be tranquil and thankful and proud
For man’s been endowed with a mushroom-shaped cloud
And we know for certain that some lovely day Someone will set the
spark off
AND WE WILL ALL BE BLOWN AWAY!!
They’re rioting in Africa (whistling)
There’s strife in Iran
What nature doesn’t do to us
Will be done by our fellow "man"
<grin>
Cheers, all!

Considering the recent events......
And the cares that hung around me through the week
Seem to vanish like a gambler's lucky streak
Okay, try this one Coco

Used to sing this song in a coffee house in Chicago when my hair was long and my waist thinner. Learned the words from a Kingston Trio album if I remember right.

You are correct Susan, although I prefer this bit of Mr. Irving Berlin as sung by Doris Day!
Okay, Who's next?

Interesting that we all found different versions of the same song. I wonder how many versions there are for each one?
My husband got hooked on Me and Bobby McGee. He found over 350 different singers of that song and recorded them all. You don't even want to know how many times I have had to listen to the tiny nuances that separated one from another.:1rotfl::1rotfl:
