Noticed this last fall and now again this year. There is a tree I've seen in Del Mar area and on first hole of Orange Blossom Hills....

It is a large, mature tree that, in the fall, gets a bunch a red/deep rose colored "leaves" that turn yellow then drop off. When in red/pink mode the tree is an explosion of color. These leaves are very fine, a little transparent, and almost heart shaped. It has green leaves during the summer. I'm not sure if it is totally deciduous in the winter.

Not a very good description, but, you arborists out there....what is the name of this tree?

I am a HUGE authority on trees, some people even call me a know it all, but not to my face. This tree is either a Pantree, (Note next time you golf if it has baked beans and other cans on the lower branches) OR a Circuitree, in that case, after it loses it's leaves, it will light up.

hmmm, gracie....neither one of those terms googled very well. I'll try to remember to take a picture next time I see one.

Now I will be serious. Could it be Salix matsudana umbraculifera 'Globe Willow'?

OK, guess I'm gullible. But anyway, I looked up globe willow and although that could be right, none of the web pictures I could find matched well.

Back to the Bubbletree for me where the sun shines and nothing bad is allowed to happen.

That is a very good name indeed :agree::)

But someone, John N? will find the real name. I will go with Bertha, until that happens.

Hi Villages07, I think maybe that is a golden rain tree. If you go to keyword and type in golden rain tree you will get info and pictures.

I'm not that good, I'd have to see it and research it, and I'm not there!!

But I'll keep tuned, we'll figure it out

It may be a golden raintree (koelreuteria paniculata). The flowers are yellow; pods are rose colored.

Juneroses? We haven't met, but your name is apt for sure.:) That is a lovely tree and it sure sounds like the one Village07 was describing. What do you think 07? John N? I am glad it isn't a Pan tree or a Circuit tree. or a Belfry.

How about it 07, do you think thats it , sure looks like it to me but then what do i know ??????

Could be a carnivorous vulgaris ......but i'm not sure......

Fumar...no carnivorous vulgaris allowed on TOTV. Only humanis happyis.
