Looks like age and a misspent youth have caught up with me. MRI ordered by PCP showed "degenerative damage" in right knee. So IF I have to have surgery, does anyone have recommendations for a surgeon to perform a arthroscopic procedure or a knee replacement procedure?
Thanks

There are a lot of previous posts related to your question...suggest you search knee replacement.

Two doctors frequently mentioned are Dr Nguyen in Maitland Fl and Dr Duke in Ocala Fl. I have had 4 knee surgeries (Miniscus and TKR) done. Duke did one of my meniscus tears but I opted for Dr Nguyen for both knee replacements and glad I did..very happy with the results.

Any number of orthopedic doctors here are fully qualified to fix your knee. Find out who accepts your insurance, first of all. I am sitting in the living room icing my knee, 3 weeks post total knee replacement. Mine was done by Dr. Olivierre and all went well. Still doing PT, which is not surprising. Unfortunately, I see my second knee needing work in the future.

I've had both my right and left knee fully replaced. Dr.Leon Mead in Naples Florida did the surgery. Both replacements look and feel as though they are the original knee with no problems. The stitching in both knees is neat and straight (no curves) with little to any signs that I once had knee replacement. I recommend him very highly and he told me that of the 4,500 knees he replaced, only 2 did he have to go back and correct the knee. Good luck with your choice. Larry

Dr. Nguyen's website is Optimotion Orthopaedics (http://www.optimotion-orthopaedics.com)

I recommend him highly. I've had both knees replaced, one in July the other in October.
