Gray and white pit bull who is extremely friendly and answers to the name Sancho has gone missing in the village of Belvedere near golf course today around noon. Please call Luis Carrillo at 203 536 2761 if you see him. There is a reward for return. Requires medical attention so need to get him home asap.

Sharing with pet lovers in that area. Poor sweet baby - hope he makes it home soon.

Thank you. Because of his breed, the owner is worried someone will pick him up and use him for fighting. He is a very docile and loving dog.

I will gout tomorrow morning in with treats and a leash

Hope Sancho makes it home soon, but somewhat relieved that he can probably thake care of himself out there if push comes to shove - not like the little dogs that go missing.

Thanks JSR22.
I don't know that he can take care of himself. He is four and wants to just snuggle. Nothing aggressive in his nature. Hopefully he will figure it out.

Hope that he returns soon. Is he tagged and chipped?

He looks like a real sweetheart. Some of the pit bulls are the nicest dogs ever.
I am sure you will be getting him home safe and sound.

I hope you get him back. I know a sweet pit bull mix named Jade that is always trying to lick other dogs and play with them.

There are three golf courses in Belvedere, do you know where he was last seen?
I will start looking for Sancho tonight.
I'm sure you've already called the radio station.
Please let us know as soon as he is found.

I walked from Morven Parkway through to Evelynton Loop a few minutes ago. No sign of a missing pooch.

I just looked for Sancho around Belmont and Churchill Green Golf courses. I'll look again tomorrow if he isn't found.
I called his name, and used a dog whistle, but no luck.
If he is very friendly, there's an excellent chance that some kind home has taken him in for the night.

Thank you all so much for your efforts. I will check with the owner this morning to see if there has been any progress and report back on here.

I think it is Churchill. Apparently they have found his tag which was on a chain on his collar. It was found a couple doors down outside the neighbors so he must have lost it early on.

If he has no tag and if he was picked up by Animal Control he would be a “dog doe”.
Another possibility, Sancho has taken himself for a walk one to many times and PO-ed a neighbor or a golfer. His tag was removed and he was taken for a ride. What are the chances his tag came of the same day he disappeared?

Sancho hasn't really gotten out before apparently. But he was adopted 4 months ago. I hope you are wrong that he was taken for a ride.

That is assuming there are some rather nasty neighbors in the Villages. I have known these in other places I have lived but not really here in the Villages. I had a friend whose pooch was shot through and through (tail to chest) with an arrow by one of these cruel neighbors but that was in Reno, Nevada. Worst thing I have seen in my life is that poor puppy still walking home to its owner with the arrow still through it. It was alive yet. I do know how mean spirited and ugly some people can be.

Sancho is probably watching TV in some Villager's home. That's what my former dog Sport was doing when we called Community Watch and located the missing dog whom someone had picked up. She used to live in Belvedere but moved to VA. The nice lady who rescued Sport while out and about with two Westies.
Nasty people seem few and far between here in the Villages. We do have some but in all probability Sancho is fine.

Call Animal Control and tell them to be on the look out for new arrivals. Ask for suggestions on who else you could check with.

Tal. Sometimes I could just hug you.
The bad thing is this, Pit Bulldogs have a reputation for not being calm at times and a good many folks are afraid of them.
I have to admit that I am. I may be afraid of Pit Bulldogs, but I would never harm a dog or kitty. I think many people are like me.

I agree Gracie; I am leery of them as well and that is why I stated he is a very friendly dog.

We back on Churchill Greens Golf Course. I'll look for Sancho again today.
If Sancho is friendly, he is probably happily ensconced in a neighbor's home.
Has the owner called the radio station?
Has the owner posted a flyer at the postal station?
If he wants help handing out flyers at mail time, I'll gladly help.
Please PM me if he needs my help.

I'm sorry... I wasn't going to say anything, but I must.
I can't believe that while someone was worried about finding the puppy dog, people respond with horror stories about what might have happened or could have happened. Really !!! I can't imagine giving a response like that ! :ohdear:
That kind of puts a damper on someone feeling positive that the dog will be found.
Thank goodness the dog was found. :pepper2:

My thinking exactly. I would be devastated if this happened to me and folks posted the worse case scenario.
So happy that the pup is found. 😃

That's great news. One of the best dogs that was a member of our family was a pit. Petey wouldn't hurt a fly unless you were aggressive to us. Our twelve pound shi shu was the alpha and the one we had to watch out for.

Try working the inner city of a big city; you'll really see how sorry, mean spirited, ugly, trashy, low-life, thuggy and did I say SORRY, people are?
So glad that Sancho has been found. Please chip him if he's not already.

I lived in downtown Minneapolis the Summer of 1988 and stayed in after 8 PM because of the drugs deals going down in park across the street. Stupid decision made to save money while getting ready for my 3rd year of law school at the U of MN. I have heard it is a lot worse in certain areas of Minneapolis than it was in 1988 in some areas.
I too though am very glad that Sancho is back.
