This went really well with Blanca doing the needle work and Juanita doing the initial intake and another lady following through and goodbye.
I also got to see all of this 2009 film while donating platelets. I have always liked JJ Abrams' work. I believe I saw the original movie in 2009 in Tampa at the IMAX on Veteran's Avenue at the 24 screen theater.

Good luck. Seems they changed the arrangement of the blood donation section a little bit.
Blanca was complaining about how slow the season has been for platelet donations. I hope it picks up for them.

On my last visit, they said that they had people making phone calls trying to get donors over the holidays. I was wondering if it was the holidays and many donors limiting out on their 22 donations for the year. They were getting phone calls from the area hospitals needing platelets. I saw the mobiles at several locations getting whole blood.

I heard Blanca making a lot of these calls while I was in the donation chair and she did manage to rope a few including one man who came in for whole blood and then he was going to come back in a week to give platelets.
She also said something about the Federal Government lessening the strictures on blood donation volume! Guidance for Industry and FDA Review Staff: Collection of Platelets by Automated Methods (http://www.fda.gov/BiologicsBloodVaccines/GuidanceComplianceRegulatoryInformation/Guidances/Blood/ucm073382.htm) This is not it but mentions some of the old standards if that is what she meant.

I donated yesterday with no problems. They have stopped the gift card perk for donating. They are giving out blankets for January. They will be giving out more gifts. I prefer the gift cards and sent them an email telling them so. I hope this move don't hurt their donations.

I liked the gift card perk too. Current Promotions - Donate Blood (http://www.oneblood.org/promotions/)

I have two appointments for donating platelets in January 2016. I hope it is just not fleece blankets for these.

A blanket is all. Send them a comment. If the only promotions are for the mobile blood drives, how will they keep the platelet donors coming back?

I will send them a comment. I got a $20 gift card when I donated platelets around December 28, 2015 as well as a long sleeve t-shirt. And a Villages' movie ticket when I was on the Winn-Dixie Blood Mobile around December 14, 2015.
I just sent a comment to them through their site's mail "Comment Section" around 4 PM January 2, 2016.

I donated 2+ units of Platelets today. There is a $10 gift certificate reward plus a T-Shirt promotion going on and the place was the busiest I have seen it in a long time. The Oneblood people think it's because it's the first time they have had rewards in a while. Anyway, it's like I said, if they stop the rewards, they will lose whole blood donors. The rest of the month, they will be giving out the blankets again.

I saw that. The Valentine's Day award program. Valentine's Weekend at the Donor Centers - Donate Blood (http://www.oneblood.org/promotions/203827--valentines-weekend-at-the-donor-centers.stml?zip=32162&radius=15) I wish that they would wake up to the fact that you need incentives other than blankets to get people into donate.
Us platelet donors can get to five gallons rather quickly going 2 units every 2 weeks or so. But regular 56 day blood donors who can only give one pint will have to wait quite some time.
