Who wants to play some music????

Hey Village Musicians!!

I would like to know if anyone out there would like to get together and jam some. I am a 58 year old guitar playing, rock & roll singing Snowbird that wants to casually hook up with some folks to kick around some acoustic/electric tunes. All instruments welcomed

I do everything from James Taylor, Harry Chapin and Cat Stevens to Van Morrison, Pink Floyd, Skynyrd and the Stones. Even dabble in some Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson and George Strait.

I am a self-taught musician and have been pickin' and singin' since I was 10. I am involved in several music projects up North and perform regularly through the "non-winter" months but these gig free winters are killing me... so I need to play.....somewhere...somehow!

I have sat in with the organized guitar clubs here at the Villages but they're not really what I am looking for. I just want to sit around with a handfull of folks and play some music.

So...if this might be something you would be interested in doing, give me a shout and maybe we can figure out how to put something together.

I saw your message and am interested. I played drums for about 18 years, laid off for about 20 years, and now have electronic drums for a couple years and been working on the chops. I played rock and went on to light jazz, but since I picked up the drums, I haven't played with a group. Would you plan on jamming at a home or in a rec center room. Since it's been a while for me, the more private, the better. Let me know what you think.

Glenn, I'll be more than happy to play with you and I'll also bring a bass player and a pa.. oh I play keys. Here's the problem though. I still work! yuck! If you get a rec room on the weekend Try Big cypress, Captiva or Bradenton for the small room after 2 pm it should be available. Listen this will be fun. If you do this open it up to everyone.. but ask them to bring a few chord charts for what they want to play. This makes it easier for everyone who is there. It will be a great place for new musicians to the Villages to meet others. Anytime on the weekend I'll be there and Yes I am a villages resident.

Dan, I had responded to Glenn yesterday but received no reply back. I let him know that I played drums and was interested in jams. If you work and need to do this in the evening, I am sure that could be worked out. BTW, what instrument do you play? One more thing...I am not sure I am even doing this TOTV thing right. I can check around here, which is north of 466, but I will go to any rec center that is available. One problem with my schedule....I have visitors until next Thursday. If Dan's best days are Sunday / Monday, can we do it after this weekend? It may take a few days to round up a rec center anyway.
