Hi, We just moved here (Hemingway Village) and are trying to find a Family Dr. that takes FED employee Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance. Any suggestions or inputs will be appreciated. Thanks

We go to Dr James Brown in Belleview, right next to Pizza Hut. Very nice DR.

If I recall when I had BCBS, I was able to go to the website and search for local doctors that were "in network". You might want to use the Wildwood zip code as it is closer then 32163.

We have FBCBS and use Colony Health. Which doc is up to you as my criteria are likely different than your own.

We have used Dr. Jay Shaktawat at Health First for several years. Very pleased in all respects. 352-633-8681.

I don't believe you can use Villages Health with BC/BS if you are a new patient. They grandfathered those of us already in.

My wife and I have Fed. BCBS; I see Dr. Kelly at Pinellas and my wife sees Dr. Zimmerman at Colony. We've only been here since 1 March (her) and 17 May (me).

I think you will find that most doctors happily accept your insurance. I have lived here 8 years and have the same insurance and have been to many doctors and never have had anyone say they don't take my insurance.

just google for the number. And I know they take fedblue as I've been using it for almost 3 years there. It is located off of 466a across from the publix.

I was pretty much scammed by the Healthcare Marketplace people to sign up for a plan when I already had a BC/BS plan from a local BC/BS rep. The Marketplace sent me a letter and wanted me to upload income verification on their website, which I could only do by signing up for a plan. I spent 3 hrs. on the phone and they told me my BC/BS plan had been cancelled and they had to sign me up for a plan. This was all taking place around 5pm yesterday. WHAT I SHOULD HAVE DONE WAS HANG UP ON THEM AND CALL MY OWN AGENT!! I didn't call him until this morning and he was able to get everything straightened out but I sure was stressed!! Beware if you get any communication from the Healthcare Marketplace - call your own agent before you do anything. I learned the hard way. By the way, my BC/BS guy is Robert Buckmann at 352-259-0666. They have an office behind CVS on 466/CR 101.
