Because they'll be poisoned or blind... do you really want to do that?

Assuming you have a tree they like, is that true?

Yes. No way to remove. Trimming has not helped.

We have same problem. We even bought one of those things that emits high pitched frequency sound to make them go away. Now the squirrels still play on the tree and my dogs won't go in the back yard... (It said dogs can't hear it, it was wrong)

A more humane suggestion, taken from Tal's link. However it might be hard to do unless you back on open space or have a big lot.

(Local squirrels visit our birdcage occasionally, but they have never caused any damage.).

"Give squirrels a reason to go somewhere else. Squirrels go nuts for peanut butter and sunflower seeds. So, you might want to provide a nice little oasis with a bird bath for water and a feeding station, so the critters will tend to congregate there instead."

I have had squirrels romping on the screen enclosing my pool for 30 years. The only time they did any damage was when I left containers of bird seed on my pool deck; they gnawed a small hole through the screen to get to the food.

I have grown to enjoy their antics...... and I never leave food on the pool deck.

Enjoy and appreciate the wildlife.

Put a feeder in your yard and they will stay off your screens.

they'll probable not be back because it's nasty. So nice of you to assume the worst though. Wouldn't be planet earth without someone jumping to conclusions.

Fred, since wasp spray is intended to kill wasps on contact, I think it's safe to assume wasp spray would blind or poison a squirrel.
As Carl in Tampa wisely said "enjoy and appreciate the wildlife".

I wonder what other conclusion one would draw from telling someone to spray a squirrel with wasp killer. Throwing ammonia on a dog (former thread), spraying wildlife with poison... unconscionable, in my opinion.

:agree:

Fred53 would be wise to maintain his anonymity on this board since he is arguably in violation of Florida animal cruelty laws.

The definitions section of the law states " In this chapter, and in every law of the state relating to or in any way affecting animals, the word animal shall be held to include every living dumb creature; the words torture, torment, and cruelty shall be held to include every act, omission, or neglect whereby unnecessary or unjustifiable pain or suffering is caused..."

Wasp killing spray directed onto a squirrel (and likely into its eyes) would appear to be "cruelty."

They have never hurt my screen. They are very smart for a pea brain. They know if they hurt the screen they might be sprayed... not....
