The next meeting of The Villages Motor Racing Fan Club is on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Colony Cottage Recreation Center, going green at 7 p.m.
Our guest speaker is Jamie Smith and we will learn more about going fast on water.
Jamie, Manager of the BG Vintage Racing Team and a Director of the Classic Race Boat Association, will tell us about the making of the film "Harold & Lorna Wilson, World Water Speed Champions" and the story of the restoration of Miss Canada IV, the first boat to exceed 200 mph.
Since retiring from a career in retail and wholesale endeavors in the automotive industry, he has written a book on wooden boats and consulted for the Muskoka Steamship and Historical Society's philanthropic programs.
