Ok...he is buying up Direct TV and has his own channel there...he is on video games that you buy with his picture and such, and now this...I am a baseball fan and this just about does it for me....

"Fox to change World Series time for Obama"

NEW YORK -- Barack Obama might have the power to move the World Series by a few minutes.

To accommodate a half-hour Obama time buy on Fox on Oct. 29, Major League Baseball has agreed to move the start time of World Series Game 6 by about 15 minutes. That would move the start of the game from 8:20 p.m. ET or so to 8:35 p.m."

SO WHAT???

He is a good campaigner. Why do I have the strong sneaking feeling this wouldn't be an issue if a Republican did it, or if McCain wasn't behind in the polls.
These repeated attacks by the same select few really are not lending any creedence to their cause. Hysterical shreiking and gnashing of teeth dont change FACTS..not the twisted spin being thrrown around. Fear of a black man becoming president is a major driver of that fear, whether people want to admit it out loud or not. I sit quietly and listen and literally cannot count the times I have heard "anybody but a black for president" in quiet tones, then vociferously state it's all about his policies...of which most of the people haven't a clue. I am bringing up because I am tired of the shallow fear mongors, and we know where some of that fear truly comes from. I have seen histeria just like this when integration started.
Cut everyone a break with the repeated attacks and ranting...it smacks of the desperation that it is. Lets move on to usefull examination of policies on both sides.

And again with the racist claims....."I sit quietly and listen and literally cannot count the times I have heard "anybody but a black for president" in quiet tones, then vociferously state it's all about his policies."

ANYTIME this man is questioned it is racism or hate !

Believe Palin did a good job of starting that issue.. Even McCain wouldnt stand up against what she said.. Actions speak for themselves.. Funny watching McCain on the debate, when that issue got brought up. Kinda of reminded me of Arnold Horshack (spelling) on Welcome Back Kotter. Uhh Uhh Mr. Kotter, make him tell us about Ayers....

Thank you !

I will wait for that quote you spoke of in regard to ANYONE,...you said Gov Palin...I will accept anyone....who spoke of Sen Obama's race.

You mentioned Bill Ayers.....I know this is the fun thing to mock, but let me tell you. Bill Ayers is a bad man and if you read the Wall St Journal today there is an editoral that should alarm anyone who cares about what and how kids are being taught in school. Just keep thinking of the people who have said they will bury us from within. Then read some quotes from Bill Ayers, who was a member of the Chicago Political group that launced Sen Obama.

Make fun if you wish, but it is not really funny at all !

"ANYTIME this man is questioned it is racism or hate ! "

No, actually not ANYTIME. Absolute statements like that usually indicate a lack of knowledge or a lack of honesty about situations, as do the repeated attacks by single posters...multiple over days grasping desperately at straws.

And again...My question at the beginning was SO WHAT? What was the point originally of the post? What could it possibly matter with regard to substance of beliefs, intentions, or ideals of the candidate?

The desperation is so apparent here...I doubt it will change the outcome. Lets at least be honest and recognize neither candidate can be so completely wrong or right. Absolutes just are not valid in most things in life.

Sound like you need to contact his employer, and everyone that lives near him, or attends the University he teaches at. You diffinently got issues with this man. You bring it up, Hear it is. But i know you will somehow conclude that all the below is false, but your opionion. with this said, last i wll post on Ayers. Thanks, Read please

1. He is now a professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, holding the titles of Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar.[2]

2. Obama-Ayers Controversy
Main article: Obama–Ayers controversy
Bill Ayers and Barack Obama at one time lived in the same neighborhood in the city of Chicago, and both had worked on education reform in the state of Illinois. The two met "at a luncheon meeting about school reform."[41] Obama was named to the Chicago Annenberg Challenge Project Board of Directors to oversee the distribution of grants in Chicago. Later in 1995, Ayers hosted "a coffee" for "Mr. Obama's first run for office."[42] The two served on the board of a community anti-poverty group, the Woods Fund of Chicago, between 2000 and 2002, during which time the board met twelve times.[42] In April 2001, Ayers contributed $200 to Obama's re-election fund to the Illinois State Senate.[41] Since 2002, there has been little linking Obama and Ayers.[42] The senator said in September 2008 that he hadn't "seen him in a year-and-a-half."[43] In February 2008, Obama spokesman Bill Burton released a statement from the senator about the relationship between the two: "Senator Obama strongly condemns the violent actions of the Weathermen group, as he does all acts of violence. But he was an eight-year-old child when Ayers and the Weathermen were active, and any attempt to connect Obama with events of almost forty years ago is ridiculous."[41] CNN's review of project records found nothing to suggest anything inappropriate in the non-profit projects in which the two men were involved.[44] Internal reviews by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time magazine, The Chicago Sun-Times, The New Yorker and The New Republic "have said that their reporting doesn't support the idea that Obama and Ayers had a close relationship".[45]

Bucco, what is your point about delayng the World Series? If someone buys a 30-minute slot to be aired at a certain time, the program that follows would either be delayed, start in the middle or cancelled. Well, you certainly can't cancel the World Series, so I'd say delaying it rather than missing the opening pitch, etc. is the best solution. I really don't see this as a political issue.

I posted a tongue in cheek thread about delaying the WS, and THE VERY NEXT POST THAT FOLLOWED BASICALLY WENT RIGHT TO RACE....immediately....it is RACE.

And folks sit on some pompous throne and throw these charges out as if it were nothing.

Rewitch, you know that I have never ever said anything even close to racial on this board...the other two posters who sit in judgement of me and anyone who cricitize their candidate I dont know about, but I WILL ALWAYS get my hackles up with this kind of just plain stupid malarky..of course then I have to get this...

"Absolute statements like that usually indicate a lack of knowledge or a lack of honesty about situations"

So I guess that means I am stupid and am dismissed....and REDWITCH (sorry about the caps, I know that offends you, but wanted to make sure this is intended for you what follows) I had not big fancy intent with my thread...there was a discussion on his cable channel, etc and I saw this and posted it..maybe I should have put a smile sticker on it...that would have made me NON racist and smarter I suppose...sorry for venting in a post addressed to you...not all meant for you but these INTELLIGENT SMART folks dont realize us DUMBIES dont like to be called racist and unintelligent !

No dumbies on here that I know of, but my opinion stands.
Perhaps the context of the humour was lost when the posting was one of about 6 on the first page alone that seem to obscess over Obama.
Voicing opinion, looking for the truth, an exchange of ideas and information is something we are all lucky to be able to participate in, but we also get to be held accountable on some level.
By the way, I don't have a candidate yet, I just have an interest in fairness and acuracy.
The hype each election season seems to gather like an avalanche of emotion. I simply try to see that if a large group, or even a majority of people feel a certain way about things they can't all be 100 percent wrong just because I disagree. There are things to be learned from both sides of every coin, and all it takes is a little desire and tolerance.
