Ben Carson laid out his new tax plan this morning.
It is a flat tax of 14.9 percent across the board. There will be NO deductions of any kind allowed including mortgage interest or charitable contributions. For younger people, no childcare or educational deductions, no deductions for medical expenses for anyone.
Does that sound like something that will fly? Yes, the candidates can promise the moon knowing full well that Congress will never go along with such ideas - but it makes the candidate look as though he has a great idea.
To me, in my opinion, it sounds as though Ben's new advisors have told him to start making big promises (that cannot have a hope of getting through Congress) - or he is toast.

Promise? Of what?
Big take aways for some do not appear to be promises.
So if there is some logic to take aways it has bot yet rung the bell!

Dr. Carson is history, even if he is still struggling along. He is a good person and reputed good surgeon, but he's on his last leg, campaign wise. Why bother to beat him up? Unless the liberals want to prove how racially unbiased they are and disparage him some more.

Benny The Scheister is done - his 15 minutes are up
Farina will probably be next to .... ahem ..... "suspend" her miserable failure of a campaign

I just took our last year’s tax form and added up all of our income including 100% of our SS income. I then calculated 14.9% of that and compared that number with my tax liability for last year. For every $1,000 in taxes that we did pay, under this proposal we would owe $2,470. That is a 147% increase. What would your tax bill be? I won’t be voting for him in the primary!

And the poor get food stamps, housing, cell phones, two years of unemployment, free health care, and welfare under Obama. Seems like a nice trade, considering who's paying for it....the rich.

Would you trade your life with one of the lifestyles of a poor family in Wildwood or Lady Lake? You could get their food stamps, housing projects, cell phone, unemployment benefits, free health care, and welfare - and they get your Social Security, Medicare, bank account, securities holdings, and home in The Villages.
You probably would find a taker.

Naw, I doubt it. Because if they wanted what I have, then they would get off their duff and make it happen. I wasn't given anything, but America allowed me the privilege and freedom to make my own way and I have earned my lifestyle. They haven't earned it, therefore they don't have my life. But, on the other hand, they are enjoying the fruits of others' labors. Not so shabby for the unmotivated.

For someone so fortunate you are very bitter, with an attitude like that you must be very unhappy.

With all the government assistance (handouts) mentioned above, what is the incentive to put forth any effort to get a job? To rise above the need for the subsistence?
All of us at one time or another have been exposed to those on unemployment who would tell you outright....why get a job when I can get paid to do nothing.
Or the food stamp folks that buy cigarettes, booze, steak and lobster.....etc....etc.
Not taking away or abusing those in real need for real reasons. I myself and many others impatience with the abundance and furthering and extending subsistence to those who are not qualified is the issue......and the problem is of significant percentage of the total.

I am satisfied with my life. It is your ilk that is always unhappy and think that other folks that are better off owe you or owe someone you don't even know. You believe that if one is not motivated, it is up to others to babysit them. Bitter? Just bitter about about how the socialists are attempting to make America into Europe. I have been there, lived overseas and have seen what they(liberals) ignorantly want. Other countries attempt to emulate us, and our spoiled wish to be like the other countries, never having even visited them, let alone lived in a foreign country.
Unhappy? Nope, but think of liberals as spoiled, pathetic losers. I do feel sorry for a lot of them, and think that many of them are just plain lazy without excuse. Is that plain enough for you? Or, do you want to call me a racist, bigot and sexist? That is how you usually divert from the thread.

And to add to what you mentioned, the budget for paying for all these handouts is gigantic, larger than the Defense budget. And yet, they want to reduce the Defense budget so that they can pay out more benefits for the lazy. Such as FREE college and free health care.
