I would like to know if you had a positive or negative outcome if you had your shoulder operated on by Dr. Thomas Sullivan? He is a part of The Villages Specialty Care Center Team. I appreciate your feedback as I am going to likely need surgery in the next few months.

I know of Dr Sullivan from my town up north. He was considered a very good orthopedic as told by my chiropractor who handles rehab on many of his patients. I went to see him last year but was unable to perform surgery because he was not accredited by hospitals down here at that time. Dr Cook is another good ortho.
Remember that it is 1/3 the doctor, 1/3 the patient and 1/3 the THERAPY afterward

Dr. Sullivan has been my family's and my orthopedist as well as a colleague for 30 years. I've never needed surgery myself but he has operated on hundreds of my patients over the years with very good results. He has injected my wife's shoulders and will do so again shortly.
That being said, please realize that no surgical outcome can be guaranteed, and shoulders are tricky joints to start with. A lot depends on the underlying pathology and type of procedure required. I would suggest you make an appointment to discuss your problem with him. You will find him to be somewhat low key and soft spoken with a dry sense of humor, but a very knowledgeable, caring, and highly skilled surgeon. All I can add is that if I personally needed orthopedic surgery, I would be seeing Tom.
Now, I have go figure out who Vinnie is, since the odds are about 90% I would know him.

I was assigned Dr. Sullivan after I fell in my garage shattering my shoulder. Very nice guy...he took time with me to explain the severity of my injury. However, he is not a shoulder specialist which is what I needed. I asked for a second opinion but was told NO shoulder specialists were available here, I would have to go to Tampa or Orlando. Luckily, my friends found the best rated shoulder specialist here in TV.
While the search was going on Dr. Sullivan came to my room, he said he totally understood why I wanted a specialist as my injury was a life altering event. He changed his surgical schedule to give me more time. I could not have asked for more.
My injury required the total reverse replacement which is used for severe arthritis and when the rotator cuff is destroyed.
I could recommend Dr. Sullivan based on his bedside manner. And I highly recommend Dr. Issac Mitchell of TriCounty Orthopedics who did my surgery.

Which is another reason I recommend Dr. Sullivan---if you have a problem that requires more specialized care, he will tell you, he is no "cowboy" He will also try to avoid surgery if possible, something that most Florida surgeons rarely do.

Dr. Sullivan was scheduled to do surgery on my rotator cuff when I broke my wrist. He did the surgery on my wrist and I am very happy with him, his bedside manner and the time he takes with you. Right now him and I are discussing plans for the rotator cuff. I would recommend him.

Dr. Joe Tutorino in Altamont Springs with the Florida Hospital Group, just a little over an hours drive from TV; 407-303-5126; did my rotator cuff on 6/27 and I was back playing golf in 3 months; did a knee replacement on my wife last week and should be able to play golf again in mid February.
