The Villages is a beautiful city. I think the term "ugly palm tree" is an oxymoran.

Yes that is the way they are supposed to be left.....low to no maintenance species of palm.

Perfect for common areas and public plantings.

No maintainence required!

I just try to think of those palm trees as wearing hula skirts. It helps.

It was 4 degrees above zero in my hometown up north this morning.

There, NOTHING is green and won't be till end of May, and then it will rain and be dark/drizzling for weeks without end.

That's all we need to know.

Up and down my village there are many beautiful Sylvester palms. Many of us who lived in the Northern States most of our life, appreciate palm trees "bearded" or otherwise.

Most who live up north and have never been here think of the coconut palms that they see in post cards. You would have to go to S. Florida to see those. The "ugly" trees you see are as nature intended and you would see in the wild where there is nobody to trim them. I don't like them either.
