I am in Mallory and heard a loud rumble, it shook the windows. Did not sound like thunder and sounded closer than the Ocala bombings.

Sorry about that. I ate those onion rings at Square 1 and they tend to backfire on me.

I think it was dark when the happened and it was not a hunter. It sounded as if something hit the house.

Based on this forum we get so many threads based on "what was that noise? "that perhaps we need to have the District form a "Committee" to study the strange phenomenona occurring in The Villages:D
Who was that masked man? Where was that sink hole? Public display of what? where? when? who? why? how?

But you forgot the most important issue---if this was a sonic boom, should we put a little sticker on the fuselage so a witness can ID the plane and report them? Or should they just "stripe" the air corridor---a skywriting plane could precede the jet and demarcate the flight plan:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

But before you go reporting anything, please ask yourself........
Could this have been Chuck Yeager looking for a house in TV?

In the Villages, I used to hear blasts from people removing rock and stuff with explosives. Have not heard any of these in years. These were far off blasts.
A sonic boom is very distinctive. We used to hear these daily when we lived near the airport in Reno, Nevada. It was sometimes our neighbor Ron Bath-- then a pilot in the Nevada Air National Guard-- taking off and pushing his plane. Ron Bath went onto become an Air Force General at the Pentagon. He was also a lawyer/law professor in Reno, Nevada.
I only rarely hear sonic booms in the Villages.

Did you just refer to 98% of those on TOTV as "simpletons"? Opinionated---always. Warped sense of humor---frequently. Not as informed as they could be---sometimes. Off topic---almost always. But very few "simpletons" post here. Besides, birds of a feather........:1rotfl:

wow.....Miles, I was just heckling the doc a little, having a bit of fun.......
I had no idea that I am defined by Webster as being someone who is not very intelligent or who does not have or show good sense or judgment.......And to heap insult upon injury, Roget suggests synonyms for simpleton like buffoon, dimwit, ignoramus, blockhead........
Oh, too, too many awful synonyms there......I just can't go on.......I blush. I did not know any of this about myself until I read it, right here on TOTV...........
I must shut up now and try to cobble my self esteem back together......I will just pretend Miles42 inadvertently made a poor word choice........

Well Boomer. I wouldn't sweat the "simple"ton comments. It's almost time for bed. I think you will get a great night's sleep.
I have a copy of Roget's. Unfortunately it went out of use when everything fell under political correctness. Or I might add a few things.
