On 20/20 tonight, they had a segment on a Broadway musical that is a big hit. It is called Hamilton and is about the life of Alexander Hamilton.

The entire cast are African Americans and Latinos/Latinas playing the Founding Fathers of our country. Women have a big part in the musical as well as the men. Many of the musical numbers are hip-hop songs.

This is a huge hit and is sold out in the Richard Rodgers Theater for the next 6 months.

What an amazing concept and successful experiment to do away with the traditional casting for the roles. It obviously worked with the sell-out crowds for future shows.

I think 60 minutes did a segment on it a while back. Very exciting to see how it all came together. I believe Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the lyrics, also starred in the Broadway version. What a creative genius, he also performed at the White House.

Was it stated that the players were purposely staged "non-traditionally".
Or was that a conclusion/opinion?

And if so, the point was what?

Are you sure that this wasn't George Hamilton? You know, the guy with the dark tan?
