I like to listen to the weekend edition of "Marketplace Money" on NPR. I like the format and the style of the show. The touch is light, but I learn a thing or two along the way.
Every once in awhile, I link one of the shows here. That's what I am doing today. This one is on the financial crisis. It even includes a little conversation with the mattress that some of us have been thinking about a lot lately.
So if you are interested, you could maybe listen to last weekend's show while you continue with TOTV.
Here's the link:

Well, NPR's "Marketplace Money" is still talking about the financial crisis. Aren't we all? I linked last weekend's show in here for anyone who was interested, and I am doing it again with this weekend's show.
Somehow, when I listen to NPR I feel a little better than when I listen to those shrill voices on Bloomberg or those people who do the Fox Business Channel stuff. The ones on Fox all look to me like they are in junior high school and are trying to tell me what to think. They also seem to have really shrill voices. I think that's a requirement now to be able to report any news on the economy. A shrill voice and a wild look in the eye.
So anyway, if you are interested in hearing about the economy from people who speak in a relatively calm voice, and whatever kind of look they may have in the eye, you can't see it at least, you may want to listen to this weekend's show while you read TOTV stuff.

I just clicked on last week's link which is now this week's link. How do they do that???? Somebody is always changing my links on here. Anyway, you can also listen to archives of the show. You will find those on the page.

Here I go again -- for anybody who is interested in listening to NPR's weekend version of "Marketplace Money."
I am listening to it even as I speak - er, type. They just talked about health insurance. They have no answers either.
I will link it in this post again, even though I now know that the links in the old posts automatically change -- somehow??? 'tis magic, I guess.
If you like the show, you can also listen to older ones through the archives.
So, in case you are interested in listening to the show, here's the new one. They are still covering the financial crisis. It just doesn't seem to be going away, huh. At least they speak in calming tones on this station.

OK.
Just one more time. And then I probably need to stop doing this. Any of you who like this show, probably know about it now.
I just think it is a nice little way to get a little money news without being screeched at by those people on television. They are still screeching. I peek in at them once in awhile. I have to turn them off. I think they will continue to screech and have wild-looking eyes for awhile.
So I just read my financial magazines and listen to this show and check the market a couple of times a day and keep an eye on the FDIC and the bank and that's how I deal with this stuff these days.
So here's my little reminder to those of you who might like this show, too. It is NPR's "Marketplace Money" weekend time again. You can listen if you want to, whenever you want to.
Confession: I have not listened to this week's show yet. But here it is, one more time.....
