I don't know if this is the right thread for this, but I'm looking for someone who knows how to sew to make a skirt for me (I don't think my usual staples would work for this). I'm not looking for a volunteer, but someone who would charge for their work and expertise. Thanks.

I highjacked your post JoC....so I could respond and I did not want to clutter up that thread with my nonense.....but it will still be helpful!!!

JoC you may just be out of luck....atleast in here on TOTV....I absolutely would sew for you....if I had a machine....and if I knew how to use it! I would probably staple it myself! LOL

Anyway....there is a woman who advertises in the paper....in the classified section....seemstress...this is all I know....hope it helps!!!

OK...just looked in todays paper for you...on page F8 1st column...three different alteration ads....

Well....I can't sew....but I can atleast find someone who does! Go with the alterations....forget the staples...enjoy your event!!

Thanks Cassie, the problem is solved. There's a woman in the hula club who will make the skirts for those of us who don't know our way around a needle and thread. BTW, I've been to Middletown (Tony's Italian Restaurant by the tracks = yum), and in Rhinebeck we weren't that far away from Ellenville. We went to a Cajun dance at the Thymes Restaurant a couple of years ago.
