What do you think the popular vote will be like for POTUS?

I am leaning towards Obama/Biden over McCain/Palin with about 2/3s of the 538 electoral votes going to the Democrats. http://www.electoral-vote.com/

Popular vote maybe going 66,040,610 for Obama/Biden and 57,028,444 for McCain/Palin. Hopefully, this election will see a lot more voters than 2004's.

Yeah, if all the talking heads and neat moving maps are right, it looks like a landslide.

If it means anything, as we finished with our Mallory Square Men's Coffee meeting yesterday, one of the attendees asked for an opinion from everyone on who would win the Presidential race. It wasn't who they wanted to win, but who the attendees thought would win. I was surprised when the vote was 100% Obama. Not even one person thought McCain would win, even though several said they had hoped that he would.

I have been reading some articles on the 2008 election and they expect perhaps 130 million voters in this election. So, I would have to adjust the popular vote predictions to 70,000,00 for Obama/Biden and 60,000,000 for McCain/Biden.

I'd like to believe in the polls, but I have concerns regarding racism i.e. when people are being polled, they may be less than truthful, because they don't want to admit they wouldn't vote for a black man. Taltarzak and Kahuna, hope you are correct that its a landslide. Oshunluva, don't fret, even though the conservatives lose, with Obama in, as Americans, we'll all win.

Nice to see I am in people's thoughts.

I won't fret over anything rekop. It is not that I am a big McCain supporter I just don't think Obama is the right man to be the first black president, if you will. That office should be held by someone with much more to give and loves this country, not Obama. He doesn't deserve to go down in history with that honor. There are way too many reputable and intelligent black men and women who fit the bill much better and I hope they will run in future elections. If Obama gets the win, the conservatives will use the next 4 years to get an incredible team and candidate together and straighten things out again in 2012. We have done it numerous times before. So, no, I won't fret, be sad, mad or anything else you want to throw out there. I am still an American citizen and I will continue to follow politics as I always have.

After 8 years of a Republican in the White House, this country is in a real fine mess right now. Senator Obama seems a lot more qualified IMHO though to try to fix these messes than either Senator John McCain or Governor Palin.

Bush and the conservatives deserve a lot of the blame for the economic woes we now have in the US. They did happen after all on their watch.
