I have been gone for a while, and tried to use the search, but couldn't find what I was looking for. Has there been any discussion about the bottling company in Ocala that wants to buy the rights to take 500,000-800,000 gallons of water each day from Sumpter Country . If there is where would I find it. It was going to put 144+ big trucks round trip (approx 290 ish)on Rt 301 every day. I am really worried about all the new construction in that area, esp if they are going to take all that water out of Sumpter Co.

You are spelling Sumter incorrectly. Maybe that's why you cannot find it in your search. We all need to rally together to stop companies from taking Water out of our aquifer!

Nestle is already pulling more than that daily from our water supply and has been for some years now

Is it Nestle who is wanting the water rights? I don't know the name of the company. Does anyone know of any groups who are protesting this? Does the Villages have an environmental group who would spear head this? Who do we call to complain about them taking our water, esp. with all the scheduled new development that is coming. I saw where this will create even more sink holes than we already have. Thanks for any info.

What's the difference if someone bottles it for you to drink or you fill your glass up at the faucet? Someone still drinks it. I doubt they are shipping it overseas.

I agree with you but will play devil's advocate.
Those who have lived in this area all their lives have been saying the same thing about us Villagers for years. I know a local who swears the low level of water in his lake is from us taking water from the acquifer.
