When we bought a house in Bonita in August, there were only four houses on our section of the street. When we went back in October, the entire neighborhood was either built or under construction! We had trouble finding our house! As a result, we expect to have neighbors when we return again in January. Is there anyone out there moving to Baisley Trail?

The inlaws just signed their purchase agreement. They will not be moving down until May 1 due to current lease in Maryland. They will be on Sutton Ter. We hope there will be may new neighbors for them when they arrive. Bonita seems like a great area.

We almost bought on Sutton ourselves, so I know exactly where it is! It's exciting to hear the neighborhood is taking root.

We just moved to Derringer Avenue from Duval. Our street is filling up fast. Hopefully this will be a fun, social neighborhood. Look forward to meeting you!

The wife and I live in Winifred on an EXTREMELY friendly street. We are so hoping that the inlaws moving onto Sutton in Bonita, will also be in a friendly area.

They dont go on the internet much, but I will tell them about this thread. I am sure they will be glad to hear that friendly people are moving into their neighborhood.

Jeffy, where on Sutton will your in-laws be? Maybe they'll be practically in my backyard.

Cassie, I grew up in your part of Rochester ... Fairport! Moved there in 4th grade from East Rochester. I'm very familiar with Minerva Deland, Martha Brown, Johanna Perrin etc. (fyi for readers not familiar with Fairport, those are names of schools) It was a great community to grow up in. Lived on Winding Brook Drive off Mosley Rd in subdivision called Fairport Manor.

Just told the in-laws about the great neighbors they are going to have in Bonita. They are obviously quite happy. :a040:

Their address is 2248.

Are they lot 31? I think that's a wisteria, which I believe you said they bought. If so they're 2 houses up from us. Where are they moving from?

Welcome, glad to see all the friendly people coming to be the in-laws neighbors. Should be quite a good group by the time they come down permanent May 1.

Cassie,

We have good friends who spent many years in Fairport. They had two
children - Susan and David Falcon. We visited them a couple of times and found it to be a really nice area.

Just looked at a new house on Baisley Trail in Bonita. Great house! Anyone living on Baisley Trail that would like to chat with us about the neighborhood?

We're not on Baisley itself but moved onto Endicott Way back in September, just off of Baisley. The neighborhood is new so one advantage of buying now is that everyone is moving it at roughly the same time which means that everyone is motivated to make friends quickly. The construction is very nearly complete so no more dust or construction vehicles now.

The postal station, pool, rec center are all close. Colony Cottage shopping is fairly close.

On the negative side, all car and golf cart traffic has only the one entrance and exit down Baisley onto Canal. Also Canal has the traffic light rather than a traffic circle so it can be a time waster. It's easy to get to Sumter Landing by golf cart although a little farther than we might like. On the plus side, it will be equidistant to the 3rd town square once it gets built south of 466A. Also, it is easy to get to the Post Office, license bureau, Ace Hardware, and other shopping in Wildwood by going south to 466A.

Good luck on your house hunting decision and hope that you will be a neighbor soon.

regards.... Barry

I live near 466A and just thought some of you would like to know that if you take 466A to 301, turn right -- you can take 301 up to 466 faster than one of the Villages main streets. No roundabouts and the speed limits are higher.

I always to that when I zip up to Wal-Mart or that end of 466. Not really shorter, but much faster.;)

This is a great suggestion. Buena Vista and Belvedere are very congested this time of year.

We live in Winifred, which has only one car entrance. And just purchased for the in-laws in Bonita. We see the one entrance as an advantage. It really cuts down on the traffic in the neighborhood.

The in-laws were here for the holidays but were unable to stay in their new home as it is rented . They had big hopes they could stay several nights there as the renter bought the house right next door and settled on the 22nd of December. Unfortunately he did not vacate until the 30th.

They did get to see the inside and all the furnishing we had gotten. They cant wait to come down full time may first and start enjoying the Villages lifestyle. :pepper2:

We moved to Derringer Avenue off Baisley in mid October. It's a nice area and conveniently located. The one entrance may be a little hassle getting out of occasionally, but I think it's easier getting out of Baisley than out of Chapman Loop which is in Hemmingway right by the gate and Havana.

Neighbors all seem to be real friendly. Our street has already formed a social group and there is also a Village of Bonita group that meets several times throughout the year.

Jeffy's in-laws will be practically in my backyard and I look forward to meeting them :welcome:

Jeffy, by the way, I assume you are aware that some furniture which had been on the lanai is all of a sudden no longer there? I noticed that this morning and said "what the heck?".

Wow, thanks for the lanai update. I just called the renters and they were amazed that I knew it was gone. They had moved the table inside to use as a dining room table so they could watch TV while they eat. We did furnish them a nice kitchen table to eat at, but guess they really like TV.
