I have an old lamp that needs help. Two pieces of the glass shade have broken and I'd like to have new ones cut to size. It also needs to be rewired. Any suggestions of good people to do this? Thanks.

Rewiring is relatively straight forward, I saw complete kits at walmart (466) yesterday, do not recall the price. Send me a PM if you cannot do this.
As for the glass..... Is this a stained glass lamp. is the glass beveled, or colored, or is this window glass. If it is window glass, the ACE hardware in Wildwood can cut glass to size (I am sure the big box stores do this also). If it is a stained glass lamp, you might check, I think there is a club. I used to do stained glass, but the supplies never made the trip south.
Hope this helps.

If it is stained glass my husband is a stained glass artist and could possibly repair it.

The glass looks like marble and needs to be cut in the shape of a trapezoid. I looked at the wiring. There is only a small hole that runs through the metal shaft. The socket seems to be screwed in. I haven't tried to remove it yet. Thanks for information. Any suggestion as to where to find this specialty glass?

I recently had a lamp rewired at ....
Glen Haven Gallery
2545 South Street (also known as Hwy 44)
Leesburg, Fl
Phone (352) 787-7954
If you take Morse to 44 and make a left, follow 44 about 8 miles or so. It is after the turn at the light by a few miles.
Mine cost $26.00.

We have also dealt with Glen Haven Gallery. Wonderful people and reasonable. Call and explain to them about your glass and see if they can take care of that. They also have a gallery with a number of antique lamps.
