I remember going through the phase where I became older than the police, doctors and priests.

Now I know I am getting old(er) as the current round of these folks could easily be my grandchildren!!!!

The cops look like kids and the Buicks don't look like Buicks.

No. Buick is on life support and Studebaker died with grace.

Back in the 50's (the good old days) I could identify any car from a half mile away by year and make. Now, up close, I couldn't tell you whether it is a Ford or Toyota as they all look alike.

Sure sign of getting old:

When discussions about knee replacements and cataract surgery become interesting.

I could always identify a Crown Vic or Satellite at night through my rear view mirror. I never got a speeding ticket, ever. Today it's more of a challenge, but I'm learning, still no ticket. Cops 0, Rick 1:pepper2:

I was forced to watch it when my grandparents babysat me. Looking through a tricolor foil scotchtaped over the black and white TV screen for that technicolor look .

My grandparents had 2 tvs. One sat on top of the other. One had sound and the other had a picture.

The day grandma's wood cook stove died. Grandpa drove his Pontiac to get her a new gas range. The food never tasted the same and her kitchen smelled like gas.

Slept in a huge bed at grandmas, no heat, but the feather pillows and handmade quits kept me plenty warm. Nescafe coffee made on top of the wood burning stove was part of the breakfast. those were the days.

That's funny my brother and i were talking about nescafe. I don't think we knew about caffine. And we weren't sure if it only came as "instant."

That's hilarious! I'm amazed how far tv's (as has most everything) have evolved in the last 10 years.

Sounds like you were at my grandma's home. I still have her quilts, very heavy.
