Post Script:

I am not sure if you prefer this in political....BUT it really was a villages EVENT....so hopefully you are ok with this thread in TV's information.

Well seeing as no one else has started a thread about tonight's visit...I will! Caroline Kennedy was scheduled to speak at Savannah Center....when I last looked at the Obama website, it stated about 150 people were signed up to attend. Apparently here in TV's they do not RSVP with only a days notice....because it was standing room only. There were republicans and democrats alike...

There were people that were turned away...but Carolyn was late....so several people left.....so those that waited it out....were able to stay.

While Caroline's visit was exciting....I think the most exciting part was that there really was a large crowd given that there was such short notice. People came together and waited for over an hour for the former presidents daughter to speak. We held hands while we prayed....for the country, for the world, for TV's!

I had chills at times when a very charismatic preacher led us all in prayer.

I was in tears when we said the Pledge together....

I had an opportunity to meet the most wonderful Irish man and his wife....that were born in my hometown!

It was exciting to see blacks and whites, democrats and republicans, VILLAGERS all come together, hold hands and say AMEN to a the prayers of a wonderful pastor from Bradenton (which was mis-pronounced by an announcer and the whole crowd corrected LOL)!

At the end of the prayer....I lifted my head and asked the woman next to me....are we still in TV's? or are we in OZ? It was amazing!!

Caroline finally arrived....she spoke of her father....of Obama....of her uncle...of her children....and the fact that while she has never stood up for any other presidential candidate.....she felt she MUST do it this time.

I happen to agree with her....I had to get involved in politics this year...needed to be heard and listen to others....especially on TOTV!!

Once I got home....after a brief attempt to dance at the square...I watched the live feed of Obama's speech in Kissimmee and the "commercial" they put together.

PERSONALLY....I was excited to be there....to be in TV's when the democrats got together!! There a lot of us! This to me was the most exciting part....

She was just fine....she arrived late....said nice things....but the crowd was AMAZING!!

I know a few people had video recorders or cell phones to take pictures or videos....perhaps they will share....I forgot mine as usual!!

I know I recognized a few people...I think....hopefully there were more of us present!!!

:coolsmiley:Cassie..Glad you posted..Im in NY and read your original post. I wondered (and was hoping) there would be a good turn out. Considering the lack of announcements, I am really impressed. While I am sorry I wasnt there, Im glad it was packed and so inspirational and moving..Amen, for sure.

Cassie, thanks for the update. I was unable to attend, but hoped as well there would be a good turnout, and apparently there was. I get the same good feelings when I attend meetings of the Sumter Democrats. A feeling of comraderie and working together with other good hearted Democrats to take back our country.

Thanks for the update....I wish I could have been there. I also watched Obama last night, but I have to tell you the live shot was from the Florida Panther arena in Sunrise (happens to be the City I work for...LOL). I wanted to go, but people lined up from early morning and there were only letting 20,000 in. Our Police Chief told us he was going live at 8:27p and off at 8:29p and that's exactly what happened. Guess it was right on schedule...haven't heard anything else about it yet.

I am not trying to stir the pot...BUT if there were only 20,000 people in the HUGE arena....and it looked filled to me.....how on earth were there 60,000 in TV's for Palin?

That just does not make sense to me! Again I am not trying to stir the pot...this is an honest thought!

That arena looked packed to me!!

Here is one article that states 35,000...I need to find some footage....so I can see how many people were there....

Okay, I'll have to find out for sure how many people were in the arena....the rumor before the event was they were only letting 20,000 in maybe they changed it....I will find out and report back ;)

I checked with the powers to be....the Arena's maximum capacity for seating is 20,000. If a center stage was used (which I believe it was) seating could go up to Max.....22,000 (and I was told that was being generous). Hope that helps.

There is a quick shot on this video....of the crowd last night...can anyone find more?
Thanks Helene...isn't it amazing that reports can be so misleading....no matter what side they lean to....almost every report I have read on any news states 35,000~!

Still looking at that video...I still just can't imagine that there were actually 60,000 people at Palins speach here....
