"Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was less than upfront in his half-hour commercial Wednesday night about the costs of his programs and the crushing budget pressures he would face in office."

This applies to BOTH candidates but especially to the annointed one who is called the messiah by some.

i thought it was well put together and produced. went over all his points and some. again this is one of those issues depending on who your for and if your a main line Repub. it wasnt a good showing. That followed with Him and Clinton was money on the spot. The problem for Repubs with Obama is that he is on the money with his campaign. while McCain and Palin say terrorist and socialist, he is pointing the country into a direction they want to hear about. Making this Nation the best ever again.

Bucco, we can always count on you to take a "cheap shot." Oh, that's right, aren't you the one the never partakes in "name calling?"

Personally, I thought the half hour was inspiring, informative and intelligent. Beautifully produced. :eclipsee_gold_cup:

While I see the McCain camp as mean-spirited, meandering and mindless. :yuck:

It's a very clear chose. We all voted yesterday and it felt really good for the first time in a long time. ;)

I agree with G....the video was smart, well thought out and put together with dignity. Honestly if McCain had done something lke this...I would have watched it....and perhaps may have leaned a little further to the right....not too much mind you....but a little more. I may have a little respect for him...but they are not running in this race with grace and dignity. They are being crude and cut throat. The country in my opinion is looking for change....in atmosphere...in everything. The country is in a hole....no matter who is in office they will have to pull us out.

I read the article you sent out Bucco....while it makes some valid points...it is a Republican point of view. A democrat could say the same things about McCains plans.

The point is that we all are going to vote for who we want....individually! I don't think anything anyone says at this point is going to change anothers mind.

Perhaps there are a few out in the country that don't know who they are going to vote for....but I can't imagine too many.

If they are voting...they know who it is going to be for. Some are not voting...which is sad.

So we can all fight back and forth....but I think the race is over....we just dont know who the winner is yet.

JMHO

Just my thoughts.

1. Sen McCain could not afford to put on such a show...he stuck to his word on campaign financing...Sen Obama did not !!! But of course, HE is the truthful one !

2. I took no cheap shots. I presented an article simple as that. By the way, Sen Obama keeps changing his tax free area..was 200M last night...250M today....but no never mind. He says NO TAX INCREASE FOR ANYONE UNDER WHATEVER NUMBER. Help me out...is he not against continuation of the Bush tax cuts ? Will that alone not raise our taxes next spring ? He never ever mentions that and if I am wrong on this I will stand corrected as this is surely not my strong suit.

3. If you wish I will be glad to list those items that Sen McCain has stretched a bit..not a problem. Understand I am fully aware that BOTH parties play the game. My point is, and has been over and over. Sen Obama is using the playbook of extreme radicals and specificallly that of Sal Alinsky. I know nobody likes to hear that but he is playing it 100%. He changes the story to fit the audience...a few examples....his overheard conversation on the West Coast when speaking to a bunch of liberal elitists about those folks in Pa. Another one....right prior to the Iowa caucus he spent a lot of time talking about all the budget cutting he will do in the military....about how he will totally cut out a number of missle defense programs...NOW....he is going to rebuild the military.

Folks, I have been fooled enough times in my life so that I can recognize someone who is fooling us and this is Sen Obama. Sal Alinsky said tell them how bad they have it...once you have them convinced tell them ANYTHING that will appease them and get them on your side.

I appreciate the poliltics of this race...the spin ON BOTH SIDES. I have done my homework....I post things here about how things are being ignored and you all just laugh at me..or ignore. This Sen Obama has a past that will be your future !!! I am not someone who is caught up in hysteria...who believes everything I read in emails or on the web, but as I said I began as someone who really wanted to support Sen Obama and thus did my own in depth investigating and the more you read about his past associations, his past unfilled promises, his past views on issues they just flat do not stack up at all.

I mentioned about TWO stark differences in what he has said in the last year or so, but it does not seem to matter to anyone. He is the annointed one..the messiah, as Farakhan has called him.

Believe me..his past is our future !!!! And for those who say lets just give him a chance and we will vote him out in 4 years if all this is true. Imagine 4 years of Obama, Pelosi and Reid and THE ONLY LEADERS in this country !

Sorry...those who think this is mean spirited point out to me some untruth I have posted....one fact I have distorted !

I have not voted yet---I have never researched-pondered, etc., over any vote in my life (61 yrs and have voted in every election) as I have with this election. My main concerns are my son--40 yrs old--always worked his entire life--for a small company owned by my sister. I have seen her struggles---no retirement plan because she cannot afford to offer her employees such a extravagant extra---One of my main concerns is to leave my son "something" after I have left this world so he can have some sort of retirement. I don't see this happening with BO---If you can believe what you read, he wants to reinstate "death tax"--If this is not so, someone please let me know. I cannot understand how someone feels that a "death tax" is acceptable. My husband and I have always lived below our means and saved and saved. I worked for 30 plus years--as did my husband--to be able to afford a retirement. we payed taxes on EVERYTHING that we earned--interest, capital gains, etc. Why should our son be made to pay a "death tax" on anything that we happen to leave---when "it" has been taxed and taxed and taxed?????

I will apologize if it appears that I was venting at only your post.

I wanted to make the point that Sen Obama did not keep his word on campaign financing in reply to you saying you would have watched Sen McCain had he done such a thing and just got venting a bit. Sorry again and now I am being taken to task for "defending" the developer when I dont think he needs defending. I gotta get out of here and get to talk with more adults :)

The death tax has been overplayed for years.....When my mother died her estate was way under the limit therefore we filed a small estate probated will. No taxes at all. Obama's plan is to raise the limit to 7 million dollars per couple and leave the estate tax at 45%. From his website:

Estate Tax: The estate tax would be effectively repealed for 99.7 percent of estates. For the remaining 0.3% of estates over $7 million per couple, Obama will retain a rate of 45%. This policy would cut the number of estates covered by the tax by 84 percent relative to 2000.

When my father in law and mother in law passed away there were no taxes at all either. But, I just cannot understand a government that feels that if someone amasses some wealth that it has a right to tax that wealth away from their heirs. That is simply confiscation of 45% of someones money to subsidize what others don't pay at all.

Is it because of some obscure feeling of fairness being fulfilled in people with less income? What in life is fair? Is owning a new or almost new home in TV fair to those in the surrounding community who live on the other side of the tracks? Would it be fair if TV owners had to pay a tax upon death of 45% to subsidize housing for less fortunate?

Just things to consider when the thought is of governments taking money from one group of citizens to subsidize another group of citizens.

i think the reason it seems ok is because McCain keeps trying to slam Obama no matter the reason. So he did go with collecting his own money. That will not win the Presidency for you, it helps get your message out. But McCain's message has had how many years in DC to get out? That is what is killing McCain now along with Palin. Then Joe Stumped him at his Stumping Speech. When your counting on a Ordinary Joe to help you at least make sure he is there and he is on the same policy as you..
But McCains biggest problem is trying to lay the smack down on Obama while not remembering what your doing. The links below prove a point. I know you will say look at the source, but just watch them, they speek for themselves. When you throw stones make sure you dont have a glass house when then they are thrown back. Now McCain-Palin want to throw Rashid Khalidi at us. Read the article below, i guess McCain forgot about that small detail. I keep hearing people say on here you need to read up on Obama, but they need to listen to McCain at the same time. It is a double bladed sword here. If McCain wont tell you the truth and cant see it is a double standard to accuse one of something while he did the same thing, then tells me his judgment is way off. Last thing i want in the oval office. I am trying to think of when the last time i heard Obama directly attack the Republican Party, but i cant think of one, he may hit a McCain, but that is fair grounds. Obama may not win, but he is making people see the light. For that he gets my VOTE!!

Then there is this article on McCain claiming and giving Palin all this credit for the Pipeline Gimmic.

1. He went back on his word that he USED as a tool during the primary !
2. If you dont think MONEY can win the Presidency then you have not been paying attention !

"I know you will say look at the source, but just watch them,"

You are correct I will not look at your sources, and you obviously feel a bit guilty about using them.

If you want some sources on Sen Obama's "friends and associates" read the Chicago Newspapers dated before he was campaigning...read any one of his TWO autobiographies and try to follow the time lines...read his PROMISES on military during the Iowa Caucus and what he says now....and the beat goes on and on and on.

Now I understand that is work and you would probably prefer to listen to the oratory he gives us, and he is a great speaker with a silver tongue, but those are words....SIMPLY WORDS. With all his "warts" at least Sen McCain has 1/4 century of clear open ACTIONS, and not 1/4 century of cloudy, murky history most of which he simply tossed aside during the primary !

Excatly what i mean, only if it is good for the Republican side does it make sense. I was refereing to the source due to the fact it was brought up beforem oh MSNBC that dont like McCain anyway. Well the facts are right, Even Guilliani likned McCain to all that stuff. But again i dont know why you post then someone post back and you say the same. Like i said earlier, you cant change someones opinion. you asked me to show you and put what i think. it is in black and white and video.

McCain 1/4 centruy. and nothing has changed. IMAGINE THAT. LETS HAVE 4 MORE OF THE SAME. Wonder if Joe will be Sec of Defense?? What will be next?

Nothing wrong with the sources,, they are very good in fact. The problem with the sources is they are right.. You want me and everyone else to take your info and sources as the gospel. but when someone shows you something to the contrary, it is wrong, washed my hands with it now. One day Mcpalin fans will stop crying when the light shines the other way..

This is the infantile mentality that is serving Sen Obama well !!! Ignore his past associations...ignore his past record (which is VERY minimal)...ignore what he has done and only listen to his golden words (which he goes back on depending on the audience) and just keep chanting what the messiah wants you to !

And again for the record..your attempt to discredit any Republican does not good in this quarter anyway...I am not a supporter of the Rep Ticket, simply TERRIFIED at the alternative !
