If you are going to visit Promise Hospital on CR472 by golf cart just make sure you have your gate pass. The gate will let you onto the Hospital lot from the path adjacent to the Belmont golf course, but it will not let you out of the parking lot without a gate pass. There is no red button, intercom, or any other way of communicating with the Hospital.

I checked it out yesterday. Curiosity got the better of me and I did read the warning but there is little ability to turn around by the Promise Hospital gate unless you back out. So Beau and I went on through in the golf cart but I had no way of beating the gate on our failed trip out.

Talked to an employee who was waiting for AAA due to some truck problems and he told me the Villagers who work at Promise Hospital use that gate and you have to have a gate pass.

I went around to the Hospital entrance and chatted with a Hospital visitor who drove to the Hospital in a car so he had no idea what to do but recommended I go talk to the nurses at their nursing station. I had Beau with me so I could not really do that as I needed to keep a eye on him.

What do you do? I walked back home with Beau. Grabbed a gate pass and then walked back to the parking lot where I had left the golf cart without any valuables inside and then drove home. Beau got to stay home for my second journey to Promise Hospital.

Looks like a nice place as I drove around a few times looking for someone to talk to about the gate situation. I thought that if the gate let me in, it should let me out without the gate pass.

I usually do not carry a gate pass if just going around Lynnhaven/Belvedere/Ashland. I do if I go outside the confines of that area.

The rear entry to Promise Hospital is marked on the map.

You can see it on the satellite map too. You will go past about 20 cows in the pasture to the west. You can see many of the cows in the satellite picture along with the rear of parking lot gate.

Tal - I will refrain from making cracks. However, when you start giving directions by counting cows it's time to take a break. ;)

It's also the closest spot you can get with a golf cart to Amazing Grace Lutheran Church...........then you have a 200 yard walk.

I played Belmont this AM. The starters working those three courses are great and a pleasure to do business with and respect is what they give and get.

You didn't heed the warning, so who's fault is it you got trapped?
I guess if you don't have business there why would you go?
