I know this subject has been covered before and I have read the posts but I would like to still ask for up-to-date info. I am planning on refacing my cabinets, putting in new counter-tops, backsplash, sink and fixtures. If any of you have recommendations on who to use OR not use, I would greatly appreciate the advice.
Thanks.

Friend of mine used Home Depot. They did a nice job but I'm sure she paid a premium.

We have a Gardinia with 30" tall cabinets that left 36" above cabinets to ceiling. We looked at adding some cabinetry on top of original to fill the gap and add storage. Those additional cabinets on top may be more than you are considering, but we found that removing existing and installing all new cabinets was only about 15% more than adding cabinet tops and refinishing all cabinets. The new cabinet layout was a great decision for us. Cabinet-Guys did the work and did an awesome job!
