All republicans are supposed to be for limited government regulation and for market driven solutions. Does anyone else find it troubling that the ethanol program that is government regulated and supported by tax dollars is supported by all conservatives except Cruz. I was not really a Cruz fan until this issue came up and he had the courage to say he would eliminate the program. That cost him a great numberl of Iowa votes at a time he was ahead of Trump. Rubio folded like a cheap lawn chair.

Well, Goober, look at what state produces so much corn that is used for ethanol. Cruz can say what he wants but elimination of the ethanol program would never make it through Congress because of lobby money.

Yes, Cruz did lose a few votes but Iowans are so dumb they will not remember.

There lots of welfare government farm programs that need axed or reformed. Jimmy's peanut program and wheat just few that's brought and paid for by lobbyist grease money. The lobbyist should be in prison just like brenie? There are wheat farmers that collect millions from government due to the vast sections of land they own cashing in on tax and farm programs meant for small farms that struggle. Not for millionaires. All farm hand outs are coded with numbers so it's hard to find out who needs it and who stealing it.

Back when the peanut scandal was In the news, Report said peanut farmers get paid and don't even farm the land or because they were peanut farmer years ago they still get paid.

Some studies say it cost more to produce corn gas than it's worth. It was based on gas prices 4 dollars gallon or more gallon to even break even, probably closer to 6 dollars gallon.

Brazil has good sugar gas program due to the tropical climate and the invest in it decades ago. But, due to policies and under the table dealings (standard oil) with Henry ford corn gas got cut due to waste product of kerosene. IMO any government funded or subtilized program must at least break even or it looses its funding.

:agree: IMO Cruz is a fake and looks more like a TV preacher than a Senator. Then again, they both tell you what you want to hear.

I'd rather listen to Rubio. At least he can get along with his own party, as well as the Dem's. Cruz fights with his own party and can't get anything done in congress. Diplomacy is not a trait that Cruz understands.

Rubio may beat Cruz in New Hampshire and then we can see how it goes from there. He is the one that America says can easily beat Hillary in the general election.

You are partially correct. I may be a Goober but I don't think Iowas are as dumb as appear to be. I'm still always surprised when a politian will tell voters something they don't want to hear. It would be like a candidate coming to Villages and saying they want to means test SS.
